But it still wasn't surprising that quite a few of the neighbors had been secretly pleased by the near complete destruction of the Tendo home and the sudden freezing over of that same place.
Heck, maybe now it could do something for the community, like serving as a ski slope, or a source of ice for coolers.
Still, they would have to work fast if they wanted to use the mini-glacier, as it was melting. The whole thing was dripping, and the water was running down the ice and onto the area around it, almost if the Tendo property was giving one last insult to the community. However, it was obvious that the place was ruined and about the only thing worth any price was the land that it was sitting on.
And in the center of that were a pair or men, well one man and one panda, who were getting to move a bit, now that the ice was thawing. It just hadn't freed them below the neck, was all.
"Saotome, I do believe that this will be a problem," commented Soun.
"Growf..," went the panda as he nodded.
"Who would have believed that the Master could manage such a thing?"
Genma-panda pulled a sign out of somewhere and held it up with his teeth. [He must be more powerful than we feared.]
"Too true. Or he may have gotten his hands on an item of great power... yet again."
[That is a possibility. But at least he has those Amazons to keep him busy.]
"And while they try to use their silly tricks to try and stop him, we'll go and get your son back!"
[Of course. And the boy will be thankful that we rescued him from such a fate.]
The Tendo patriarch nodded resolutely. "And he'll be so grateful that he'll finally understand that we know the best for him."
[Which will mean that he will finally agree to marry your daughter.]
"But we will have to punish him for leaving my home damaged like this."
[Yes. He should have done something to fix it.]
"All it needed was some wood, a few nails and a coat of paint. Is that too much to ask?"
[He is such an ungrateful boy.]
"I do think that I will be putting off punishing him for now."
[I agree.]
Soun sniffed. "It is so nice to have such a cooling experience on such a hot day."
[Very relaxing.]
"Not that we couldn't just get out of here if we wanted."
[We're strong men,] the panda signed, and then flipped it, [and only stay since we want to.]
"But we'll leave soon enough."
[When we want to.]
And so the man and panda stared at each other, as they sat frozen shoulder deep in ice, while:
