Wasn't a streetlamp grabbing some random girl a little strange?
Kurumi certainly seemed to think it was, judging by the way her face was turning colors, and she was writhing, trying to escape the creep's grasp. Making a conscious decision, Ranma extricated Kurumi by the simple expident of kicking the 'streetlamp' about where Ranma figured a stomach would be on a normal person.
An opening appeared on the streetlamp, and a crying face popped out. "Hey!" it yelled. "That was mean!"
Kurumi regained her bearings and scrambled behind Ranma, staring at the streetlamp in fascinated horror. "What is that thing?"
"I am Tsubasa, your one true love, Ukyou!" the streetlamp protested.
"I'm guessing it's some kind of freak," Ranma suggested to Kurumi, taking of a defensive stance. "Get ready to run for help -- if it gets any closer I'll kill it."
"But, Ukyou!" the steetlamp protested, its arms reaching towards Kurumi in vain. The face suddenly blinked, and both arms dropped to the streetlamp's sides. "You're not Ukyou."
"Well, duh," Kurumi said, still hiding behind Ranma. "I'm Kurumi, Kurumi Tendo."
"So, case of mistaken indentity, right?" Ranma said, glancing around at the crowds, which had stopped to stare. At least that much was normal.
