"I haven't!" Minako replied brightly, "Just seemed like a perfect time to put my madly leet gaming experience to the test!"
With that, the beautiful blonde fighter for love and beauty slammed her foot on the accelerator. With a mighty roar, Setsuna's car burst into motion... and promptly reversed into a lamppost, crushing the rear of the vehicle.
"Maybe I should drive?" Haruka asked nervously from the back seat which was now slightly deformed from the impact.
"Ahaha!" Minako rubbed the back of her head as she laughed nervously. "Don't worry, I know what I did wrong!" she said, starting to fiddle with the gearstick.
"Ah... Minako-chan? You know how you said they couldn't find us in our civilian identities? Well, the mirror is telling me that they've found us anyway..." Michiru said from the front passenger seat.
"You mean your magic aqua mirror thing is telling you that? If it's a prediction. we'll have time to come up with a cunning plan plan!" Minako replied confidently.
Pointing at the rear-view mirror, Michiru simply said, "Not quite."
"Eeep!" Minako gasped as she saw the road behind them was filled with dozens of people slowly approaching. At least they didn't have proper tactics, but their tendancy to swarm was still rather unsettling. "Okay, don't worry. Stay calm, V-chan..." Minako recited to herself, taking several deep cleansing breaths before abruptly looking up with a rather manic expression on her face. "Oh yeah! It is just like a video game!"
This time when Minako hit the gas, she got the car moving in the proper direction, and promptly spun it round to face the advancing mob of pod-people, incidently creating a large green skidmark as the wheels went over pod-Setsuna.
"What game would that be, Minako-chan?" Michiru asked, carefully readjusting her seatbelt as a feeling of impending mayhem washed over her.
Haruka had now leaned forward from the back inbetween the two front seats, and her eyes shone with the same manic glee as both she and Minako spoke in unison.
"Carmageddon!"
With a screech of burning rubber (and plant matter, since bits of pod-Setsuna were still under the wheels), the vehicle exploded into action! "Damn, I wish Setsuna didn't have such a crappy old lady car. The acceleration sucks," Minako complained as they picked up speed while approaching the mob.
"Don't worry, little kitten," Haruka reassured her, "Cars like this make up for it in resiliency. A little sports car wouldn't last long through something like this..."
Michiru covered her eyes and whimpered.
SPLAT!
"Oh yeah!"
It was hard to tell who made that exclamation, as both Minako and Haruka seemed suitably enthused by their actions as the car ploughed into the mob, sending the pod-people on the outskirts flying like tenpins, while even more got pulped under the wheels. The windscreen became coated in green goo and little vegetable giblets as the engine of destruction mercilessly struck down all in its path.
"We're almost through..." Haruka whispered as the pod-mob started to thin, then she suddenly yelled in Minako's ear, "Powerslide!"
Startled, Minako reflexively did as she was told, pulling up the handbrake and spinning the steering wheel, causing the back of the car to whip round and catch a few pod-people who would have otherwise escaped harm.
"I think I'm gonna be sick..." Michiru groaned as her door window got a nice closeup of a smashed pod-person face.
