"Brianna's almost healed up," he said. "She's annoyed that you're making her stay in the med-lab while you do this."
"Just want to be safe," Gina noted.
"She'll get plenty of action anyway," Julia noted. "If this is any hint." She gestured at the young werewolf before them all.
Jetta frowned at the image of the werewolf girl lying passed out within one Gina's force-bubbles. The bubble it seemed had enough air flow for survival, but the werewolf within had been maintaining such a level of activity that there was not air enough for her to stay conscious.
Jetta herself was not opposed to the making of thralls in some cases. She'd even threatened to do it to Gina upon one occasion. But she felt it should generally be left to enemies of the clan, as punishment, rather than random passersby. And Jetta severally doubted that the inflicted girl had done anything against her father to earn such a punishment.
"What do you make of it?" Theo asked.
"The bloodlust enchantment has been activated," Jetta noted. "If she hadn't been given a specific target she would have been randomly killing people."
"And how could that enchantment be activated?" Theo asked, already guessing the answer.
"A master can activate it in a thrall," Jetta said. "But it will go dormant again while she's unconscious. Is there anything that can be done?"
"About the lycanthropy?" Theo said. "We both know that's not possible with current knowledge. But perhaps I can do something about the thrall-effect. Gina, remove your force field."
"Are you sure about this, Dad?" Britanny asked. "She's pretty out of it."
"I'll be fine Britanny," Theo said. "I'm ready Gina."
"All right," Gina said. She felt a shiver run down her spine, well aware from Brendan's note that she was slotted to be taking this girl's place as Brendan's slave.
The bubble lowered to the floor and then just seemed to pop out of existence, depositing the werewolf gently upon the floor. In the same instant Theo began chanting as his aura flared into brilliance around him and he reached done to touch the werewolf.
"Break Enchantment," he called out as the power flooded through the girl, shocking her awake.
Everyone tensed, the warrior women ready to stop an move on the girl's, as she looked about at everyone in the room. Finally, after what seemed forever, she collapsed in on herself, folding into a ball and audibly fighting back tears.
A quiet sigh of relief was heard about the room as Jetta edged forward and gently laid a hand on the girl's shoulder. The younger werewolf flinched in response and Jetta showed both her hands up in a gesture of good faith before reaching around and holding the girl in a soothing embrace.
"It's all right," she whispered. "You don't belong to him any more. You're safe now."
The answer was a choked sob as the younger girl clutched at the comforting presence about her.
"What's your name?" Jetta asked quietly.
"I'm..."
