As her eyes rolled back into her head, she whispered, "Mein gott."
Shinji used his new abilites to slow Asuka's descent to a crawl and gently set her down on the ground. He shook his head and stared at the sky.
"She took that well," Shinji said.
Rei asked, "Why aren't you reacting in the same way?"
Shinji replied, "Things have happened as they must and probably always will. After Asuka wakes up, we should find the others."

Maya was having the time of her life. She looked down at the green and brown quilt of the ground far below. Her wings were giving her a splendid view of the land that she lived in..
"This is fun," Maya said, as she focussed on a cloud.
The cloud she stared at was blown by winds and shaped itself into a large smiley face with the words 'Have A Nice Day' written under it.
"The powers and abilites of that game," Maya said aloud.
A sudden thought came to her that stopped her joy.
"Super-heroes attract villians. Right now we have the Angels to deal with, but what about later? A hero needs a villian."
Maya used her wind powers to make another cloud more rigid and landed on it. She sat on the cloud and stared down at the NERV complex.
"If all of us gained powers, we should focus our attention on the Angels and put off dealing with having villians. But first, I need a place that is mine. Batman had the Batcave. Superman had the Fortress of Solitude. Green Arrow had the Arrowcave Me? I'm going to have an air fort: Aura Castelleum."
Maya flew up as high as she could and usd her powers to form a home out of the jetstreams and air. With her new abilites, she could see her castle form. To others, it would just appear to be a shimmer in the air. Even if a jet flew in the area it was in, the pilots would instinctively pull away, thinking it would be turbulence.
After she was done, Maya sat in the central room of her castle pleased. She removed her jeans and tossed them to one side, leaving her with only her swimsuit and matching slippers on.
"I have a home where I can be me," Maya said. "I really should practice a way to look human."

Rei looked up at the sky and pointed at a cloud. "That is unusual."
Shinji looked up and saw a smiley face in the clouds and the words 'Have A Nice Day' written below it.
"Maya," Shinji said. "She had powers over air in the game last night. That must be her doing."
"So how do we get to her?" Rei asked.
Shinji looked at the smiley face and then at Asuka lying on the ground. "We can't. Asuka is the only one who can reach her now. Asuka has the ability to fly. We don't."
Rei nodded. "Asuka goes up and talks to Maya, while we find the others."
Shinji gently shook Asuka.
"Asuka? Wake up."
Asuka groaned and blinked, as she came around. "What a dream. I dreamed that we all gained the powers of our characters and that Wondergirl was acting human."
Shinji hesitated. "Um.... It wasn't a dream. We need you to fly up and find Maya. She's flying and you're the only other person who can fly."
Asuka sat bolt upright and stared at Shinji, as if he had become a demon from the depths of Hell.
"You want me to...What?!" Asuka demanded. "Fly? Have you flipped?"
Rei said, smiling, "Well, you are Ultra Lady now. I still want to talk to you about changing my looks, but that can wait until later."
Asuka's head swivled back and forth to stare alteratively at her fellow piolts. She buried her head in her hands.
"Anything else?" Asuka asked in strained voice.
Rei frowned and nodded. "We are super-heroes. We should have the appropriate attire. I'm not sure what my lycra costume should look like."
Asuka whined a bit and shook her head. "This isn't happening. This isn't happening. I'm going insane."
