The crystal probed all of Ranma's memories,leaving nothing to chance. It simply could not fathom another lifeform could abuse it's offspring the way Ranma was abused, in the past and was still being abused today. The crystal was made to help and aid othersand it decided that it must help this young man it had bonded to.
