The Clerk blinked. "Oh?"
Yuka nodded. "Oh, yes. As my mother taught me, Girls are for pets, and Boys are for official relationships. But, well, some of your signs did say gender could be adjusted to taste..."
"Ahh. I see."
Yuka sighed. "Yes. And I think it will be soon, too. Really, he's a bit too much of a flirt, always lusting after someone new."
The Clerk looked worried for a moment. "I do hope you aren't going to go overboard here... you already are going to have two very demanding pets. I can't in good conscious send a pet to live with someone who can't take care of it. That's the whole reason we added that second line to the sign, you know."
"Oh, don't worry!" Yuka said with a smile. "They'll have plenty of other pets to play with!"
The Clerk raised an eyebrow.
Yuka winked. "My mother has quite a collection herself. And we take good care of all our pets, I assure you."
The Clerk grinned. "This, I think, is the start of a beautiful friendship..."
