Ami's camera was fixed and she couldn't see the whole room. Oh for a servo motor on the camera! She could still review what she had seen.
Uranus - unconscious on the floor.
Mars - hiding behind the fountain.
Akane - a bo staff.
The evil panda who'd actually managed to crack her case (Ami didn't want to think about what that would do when she turned back) was now a cute stuffed panda.
The crying man who was apparently Akane's father - the fountain that Mars was hiding behind.
Akane's sister who had tried to buy her - a gold bar on the floor.
Akane's other sister - bludgeoned into unconsciousness by her father and the evil panda-youma.
Makoto and Ranma - somewhere outside.
Tuxedo Mask - location unknown, probably trying to rendevous with Sailor Moon.
Things did not look good in Ami's humble opinion.
Which was when the figure in bandages seemed to act confused - or at least that was the body language as it moved through the room. Was it that confused by Mars hiding behind the fountain?
Crickle crackle FLASH!
Ami recorded the electrical discharge leading up to the flash and determined that Ranma had just reached the perimeter fence and had initiated an electrical arc in a manner similar to an arc lamp. No doubt trying to spot someone lurking. Way too bright though. He'd probably blinded himself as well. From the window was a pure blinding white.
It was the Enemy's reaction that was the most startling. Fear. The body language was something of pure terror. Then the figure was gone, rushing down the stairs and stumbling in its mad flight.
The creature was afraid of bright lights or something?
Ami thought it likely that the creature would return, and how would they be able to defend against it now?
The blinding white light outside faded and Ranma's voice could be faintly heard. "Well, scratch that idea."
Ami tended to agree. Five minutes passed.
Ranma leapt in the window as soon as he could see clearly again. "Ah HAH!"
"YAGHHHHHHHH!" shrieked Mars as she leapt and spun and WHAM! managed to put a respectable Rei's head sized dent in that wall over there. Thud!
Ranma blinked. "What happened?"
