"... so that's what happened," Ami sumarised.
"'kay," Ranma nodded absently to the camera as he lifted the red bo stave. "Poor Akane, now she's really got no figure. Not that she had much... ow!"
The stave had suddenly extended then retracted, thumping him on the temple in the process.
Ranma set the stave aside with a glare. "So, anyway, you say the ... youmummy never attacked first?"
"That's right," Ami agreed. "It doesn't seem to initiate combat, it always just reacted to attacks against it. Although verbal attacks seems to count. Maybe it draws energy from anger or agression to power its attack?" That pattern was consistant with various enemies the senshi had faced.
"So it uses the hot ki from it's opponents battle aura against them?" Ranma translated into terms that made sense to him. "I wonder if the soul of ice technique would help. No, wait, I was plenty mad when I tried to fry it. So why didn't it get me when I was blinded?"
"There is something else," Ami corrolated, "Rei attacked it then hid behind the fountain, er, Mr Tendo, and that seemed to confuss it. Then when you attacked it seemed frightened ..."
"'cause it was," stated Ranma boastfully.
"... even though the electric attack didn't work and should have made you vulnerable," Ami finished. "I don't think it was frightened of you, Ranma, or even Makoto's power, but I do think, maybe, it was because you are wearing Makoto."
"Huh," grunted Ranma. "I don't get it."
"I'm just guessing, but the residual magic around its victims might produce interference waves," Ami supplied, "thus preventing it from being able to 'lock on' to its target."
"Gotcha," Ranma nodded. "So ta fight it I gotta keep wearing this girl?"
"Yes," Ami agreed. "Though it's not as if she's going to give you a choice."
"...yeah," Ranma complained, managing not to mention how the gi was still, er, expressing her fond attachment to her wearer, so to speak.
"If I'm right about this, you should also use Akane for extra protection," Ami added.
Ranma lifted the stave and considered that, "at least she'll be of some use in a fight for a ch... owie! Hey! I thought you said the other victims can't see or hear?"
Ami pondered that, "I really don't know how much the others are aware of their suroundings. I seem to be only able to interact as a computer might, but Makoto and Akane are able to move in ways I can't."
Ranma considered the gold brick, the plushy toy and the fountain and asked, "so what about the others?" He really didn't want to think about how the Blue Pleasurer perceived the world at the moment.
(Too late. Iyiyiyiyi. Ick! )
"I have no idea," Ami admitted, wondering why the martial artist has started bashing his head against the floor. "They seem to be inert at the moment. In any case, they don't look like they'll be much help fighting the enemy."
"'nless I through Nabiki at him or somethin'," Ranma muttered.
