He had his first Quidditch match, against Slytherin, and they won with Harry catching the Snitch. Though, things had gotten interesting when Harry's broom decided to imitate a bucking bronco. Harry had just about given up on regaining control of his broom, and decided to jump off and Levitate to the ground, when it finally returned to normal, allowing him to win the game for Gryffindor.
Hermione and Ron later told him that they believe that Snape was using some kind of dark magic to attack his broom, but they had interfered.
They decided to ask Hagrid, after the game, what was down the forbidden corridore, and why Snape might want to try and get to it. Hagrid mentioned a pet of his, named Fluffy, and a Nicholas Flamel, but caught himself in time to not reveal anything else to the trio.
Harry was informed by Dumbledore that they had prepared a transportation talisman to take him back home. Harry would leave from Diagon Alley, where Hagrid would take him, and pick him back up near the end of the holiday.
Ron was disappointed that Harry and Hermione would be going home, leaving him stuck at school with his brothers (his parent's were going to Romania to visit Charlie.) but tried to keep himself in good spirits as he said goodbye to them.
And so Harry's first term at Hogwarts ended.
