Asuka flexed her arms a bit and squinted at Shinji. "What is wrong with theese suits? They are hard to move and at first they itch."
Shinji gulped and explained. "The suits have a sort of battery and those batteries need charged up. That's why the suits are hard to move."
"Pilot Shinji, why did you not charge the suits up before you handed them to us?" Rei asked.
"Because they can only be charged while being worn," Shinji repiled.
Asuka stared at Shinji. "Huh?"
"Let me show you," Shinji said, as he picked up one of the staves he had been working on.
Shinji looked at the staff with red highlights and stepped behind Asuka. "Please stand still, Asuka. I'm going to charge you armor up."
Asuka shoook her head in confusion, but did it anyway. She suddenly felt something shove into the base of her spine.
"Shinji, what are you doing?" Asuka asked.
"Charging your armor," Shinji replied, and started turning the staff.
An electrical field palyed around both Shinji and Asuka, as Shinji turned the staff ten times. As the staff revolved each time, Asuka spasmed and clenched her fists. Removing the staff, Shinji let Asuka recover.
"That was intense," Asuka said.
Asuka stretched her arms and looked down at her hands. "I feel stronger than I ever have."
Shinji said, "You should be, until the batteries run down."
Asuka glanced at Shinji, "Clockwork armor?"
"Would you rather have had an extension cord?" Shinji asked, and put the red highlighted staff in his locker. "Rei?"
Rei nodded and turned around. Shinji used a staff with blue highlights to give Rei the same treatment as Asuka. After he was done, Shinji put the blue marked staff away as well.
Rei looked at the front and back of her hand. "I feel that there is something different beyond the defense and strength."
Shinji turned away from the girls and smiled to himself. 'You are not wearing clockwork armor. While you have those suits on, you are clockwork cyborgs with the same abilites as Ifurita. I'll let you get used to wearing those Ifirsuits, before telling you about the other abilites.
