'First stage. The synch rates are up and they have a bit of enhanced strength,' Shinji thought.
Rei and Asuka came into the locker room and nodded at Shinji. They went into the dressing rooms and put on their special plug suits. While they were doing that, Shinji attached a calculator like object to the staves and typed on it. After a brief flicker of energy, Shinji removed the keypad.
As Asuka walked out in her Ifursuit, she said, "This is silly. We have to keep getting the suits charged each time we put them on."
Shinji replied, "You had to get used to them first, before you could use some of the other abilites."
Rei asked, "What other abilities do these suits have?"
Shinji took a deep breath. "Quite a few actually. Right now, I've activated a bit of an energy store. You'll be able to run your EVA a bit longer than three minutes. As you get used to that kind of drain the energy store will go up, and I'll activate even more abilites. You have to get used to the armor gradually."
The two girls nodded and let Shinji wind their 'armors' up. After they were wound, they left for their synch tests.
'As I free each power, I'm intensifying my failsafes,' Shinji thought, and smiled. 'Since I made the winding pleasurable, it helps as well.'
As Shinji put the staves back in his locker, he thought of Rei. 'Why is my father so concerned about you? Why does he let you live in that run down building if he is concerned? After the tests, I'll go clean your apartment up. I don't think my father allows you enough time to yourself.'
Shinji went into the male dressing room and put on his ordinary plugsuit. 'Do I make a different version for myself? I'll probably wait until I have fully freed the Ifursuits and see how they respond to Rei and Asuka. I don't know if there will be any other side effects.'
Shinji looked down at his wrists, 'Maybe I should build some sort of werable forcefield that I can hid in the wrists of this plugsuit
