"It appears to be so," Seta replied as he pushed his glasses back on his nose.
"And ya have a clue as ta what might be, right?"
"As a matter of fact..."
"Yeah..."
"I haven't translated it that far."
If he hadn't been afraid of what would happen, the pigtailed boy would have fallen over in shock. "Ya don't know?!"
"Not yet, but give me a little time, and I'm sure that I'll have it."
"How long's that gonna take?"
"I'm not sure. This isn't something that happens on a schedule."
"It should."
"Sorry, but that's the way things go."
"Great..," Ranma said nervously, "It's pulsin' now, so can ya get to it?"
"I almost have it... It's supposed to be some great power..."
"Wonderful. But is it gonna do somethin' bad ta me?"
"I don't think so..."
"Doc..."
"Just a moment..."
"I don't think we got that long..," the younger man said.
That brought the archeologist's attention to Egg, with was getting brighter and pulsing faster with every second. "Oh my..."
At that moment, a blinding flash filled the area, and left them sightless. It took a bit of time, but the white resolved itself into light and shadow, then shapes, and from there to objects. Once the last remnants of the light were gone, they looked back to where the Egg had been.
And there, instead of it was a:
