A Different Type of Were: Ranma the were-cat-rat-thingamajig (cont.) (DARK) [Episode 75315]

by otakuguy

He could hardly believe it. He was still alive, well out of harms way, and, from the way Saffron was still hurling fist-fulls of fireballs at the alley he had previosly been trapped in, his enemy didn't know either.

Had the gods actually heard his prayer?

Had he actually ran three blocks in the blink of an eye?

Was that fur on his arms?

Sure enough, as Ranma examined his arms he noticed they were indeed covered with brownish-gray fur and there were golden spots going up both his arms. His fingernails were also longer and sharper, more like claws than nails, actually. He looked himself over for any other changes and saw that his entire body was also covered in a layer of brownish-gray, gold-spotted fur but from what he could tell that was the only changes there were. He was the same height and the same build from what he could tell, he was also still male. So, aside from the fur and claw-like nails-no, wait, he had a tail, a long bald tail, he was almost certain he didn't have that before...

"Aiyah." To quote one of his fiances. This was way too much for him to handle. Better to focus on something more familiar, like fighting and there was one fowl-tempered (i made a funny) pheonix who was just asking for an ass whopin'. But, what good were fists and claws against something that just regenerated and instantly healed from any damage it sustained? He could lay a beat down on the bird brained godling all day and the damn brat would just flame up and-wait! What if that was the key? The pheonix is said to rise from it's ashes, so the seceret to Saffron's regeneration must be his fire powers. No fire, no ashes; no ashes, no instant healing or comming back from the dead. In a secluded village deep in the valleys of china there arent a lot of ways to put out a fire, short of Jusendo water and a good Hiryu Shoten Ha. But, now they were in a city with vastly superiour technology and much more convienient methods of fire fighting. As Saffron was soon to find out.

Saffron laughed to himself in triumph. The Pigtailed landling was no match for him in his completed form, and now he was no more as soon would be all of the landlings who dared to defy his might.

He decended closer to the ground but not touching it. Perhaps there was an identifyable scrap of the pigtailed cur that he could keep as a trophy, although he doubted it. Nothing in this world could withstand his might. He chuckled to himself again.

"What are you laughin' at, bird brain?"

"Impossible." Saffron spun around to where he heard his most hated enemy, just in time to see a shaddow pass above him before he felt a hard jerk at his right wing and was slammed into the molten asphalt. Another hard jerk rended the same wing from his body. He used his powers to immediately regenerate the wing but before the appendage could form he heard a loud swoosh-ing sound and felt a searing cold pain like that of a thousand bees stinging his back and he rared back in pain.

"The only thing impossible here is your attitude, you glorified feather duster." Ranma spat at him as he continued dousing the royal pain in the butt with the fire extinguisher he had 'liberated' from an abandoned store nearby. To his extreem relief, it seemed that the dry chemical of the fire extinguisher did indeed keep the godling from regnerating his injured limb and seemed to cause him a great deal of pain as well. As the molten asphalt hardened around the pheonix it seemed for all intents and purposes that the godling was beat.

"Lord, Saffron!" Ranma watched as the bloody and bruised Kiima quickly limped to her fallen charge. Looking down on his beaten foe Ranma found it hard to be proud of his victory. They had attacked him at his home in mass and he had beaten all of them down by any and all means necessary, as were the tennets of his school. He had used his smarts and his martial prowess to defeat he who was feared by many but the whole episode just left a bad taste in his mouth. Which is probably why he decided to let them go.

"You can keep your lives and your god, but never come here again." He said to her tiredly, he turned to walk away and therefore missed the many of emotions that played accross her face which may have explained the reason why she wrecklessly attacked him yet again.

He was too tired to dance around her blows like normally would. He simply raised an arm to block the wild swing she made with her talons, the same arm with which he carried the fire extinguisher. After her rasor sharp claws scraped across the metal cylinder there was a loud BANG like a gunshot and after the dry chemical mist settled there were three bloody bodies lying on the ground covered in fire retardent foam.

Saffron lay still, a vacant expression on his face as a red shard of metal dripped with blood from in between his dead eyes. The fire proof foam having prevented his resurection.

Kiima desperately crawled toward her fallen lord as she slowly bled to death from a long deep gash in her abdomen.

Ranma lay still on his back too dazed and confused to realize how badly he too was injured, nor how his would-be fatal wounds were already well on their way to healing.
