A Different Type of Were: Ranma the Were-rat-cat-thingamajig [Episode 72768]

by otakuguy

If he lived through this, he swore to himself, he would just run up and tear the bastard's head off. That was just about the only thing he could think of that the bird man wouldn't just grow back. On the other hand he didn't think he'd get that chance, considering the wave of fire that was decending upon him from the sky.

It shouldn't have been like this. He thought to himself, he had defeated the pheonix god before when the bird-man had had the home turf advantage. This should have been... well, not child's play, but easy enough. The difference was, this time the godling had brought along a contingent of Pheonix warriors and Kiima, with the soul perpose of defeating the pigtailed fighter. After defeating wave after wave of trained pheonix soldiers and Saffron's personal bodyguard, he was hardly in any condition to stand let alone battle the recently reacended godling. And, as of yet he had received no backup from the other martial artists in the area.

He had fought alone, against impossible odds and put up an excellent showing for himself and his school, but none of these thoughts would comfort him in the after life. Which is where, it seemed, he was headed cornered and wounded as he was. But, you know what they say about cournered, wounded animals, which ironically enough was just what he was. And, he wasn't going to just lie down and die.

The line of sight from Saffron to Ranma was obscured by a wave of countless fireballs, if ever there was a better oportunity to escape unnoticed with his life, it was now. So, he lunged forward and ran with all his might, he closed his eyes and prayed, seeing as how it would take a miracle to survive this one.

He could feel the heat from the incomming missles, the air resisting his every move, and he pushed himself faster, and prayed harder, and heard an explosion several blocks away. Suprise caused him to stop in his tracks, and he immediately cringed at his own stupidity and threw up his arms in a feble attempt to ward off his own fiery demise. When nothing happended, he peaked at his surroundings with one eye, and immediately noticed the lack of fiery doom headed his way. He looked back to where he had been hearing multiple explosions and saw Saffron still hurling fireballs where he used to be... three blocks away.

"What tha'?" Was his intellectual reply.
