The temple was in itself a work of art: A classically elegant structure who reminded Ranma of the greater catholic churches with gardens that would not disgrace the royal palaces back on Earth. Flowers, statues and fountains created a tableau of unparalleled beauty. Ranma had never seen anything like this in his life and was momentarily awed at the majesty of the surroundings.
A female voice, as sweet as honey and as musical as running water, broke his reverie when it announced "In the name of the Goddess, Lady Sune Firehair, I heard and received your vows of everlasting love. It is my duty and my pleasure to declare you husbands and wives..."
Ranma rose his head to look at a regal red-haired woman in a revealing white silk toga standing behind a small altar. Other men and women, dressed in the same kind of flimsy clothes were also attending. Apparently, the priestess (Ranma supposed she was one) had decided to do the ceremony in the gardens.
"Wait a minute... Did she say brides? As in plural!?!" thought Ranma now on the verge of panic. Alarms sounded in his mind as he turned to get a look at his new *gulp* wives.
Sanri and Unri stood to his left, looking a little bewildered at being suddenly teleported, stuffed in wedding gowns (them being a cross between Eilistraee and Sune's fashion, read: not much tissue) and married to their savior and master.
Three other girls had apparently been snatched from their homes, put in wedding dressed and dropped there to participate in Ranma's nuptials. The young martial artist recognized sailor Mercury, Jupiter and Venus, what were they doing here? Not that he could know that, but they were all wearing color-coordinated Moon Kingdom wedding dresses. They also seemed to be in a sort of daze, as if a long-cherished dream of theirs was being realized...
The head priestess of Sune smiled benevolently at the love hexagon in front of her. Never had she seen maidens so desperate for romantic love in her life. So when a man came with enough love in his heart to cherish them all... Ah, to be young again... She was sure the Goddess would be pleased at this turn of events
Many of the attendants found it a little strange that Ranma could marry several girls at the same time. Then again, he seemed to be from Kara-Tur. Perhaps their empire allowed polygamy?
Someone more knowledgeable on the East argued that he couldn't be a pure Kara-Turian. His eyes were too big and blue, after all. Perhaps he had some barbarian blood. Some of the northern tribes allowed multiple wives if you were a sufficiently great warrior.
Ranma didn't care about whatever things they were discussing at the moment. Maybe he was on the verge of reinventing himself into a better person, however he knew that marriage, especially to more than one girl, meant BIG trouble, should he ever go back Home.
Right now, a nice and long honeymoon slash training trip in this strange world sounded good.
