However like the eight times before, the pebble didn't budge an inch.
With a sigh Dr Diggers rubbed his head for a moment before looking at his daughter. "Gina, that is enough, we've failed for the final time. I guess you just weren't cut out for magic."
"But how come dad?" Gina asked. "I've tried all of the kids as best I could and still come up with nothing!"
"Ah don't be so sour about it sis," a boy's voice said behind her that made Gina frown. "I guess you're just not cut out for this kind of stuff."
The elder Diggers sibling (even if wasn't by twenty four hours) turn around and frowned at her brother as he was laying on the couch...that happened to be floating in the air, along with his book that was also currently levitating and a plastic cup full of soda. That was the real kicker to Gina's pride when it came to magic.
Although she loved her brother as much as any sister could, there had always been that sibling rivalry between them. While Ranma was the physically superior and did okay when it came to sports and that ilk, Gina always kicked his ass when it came to schoolwork. Now that particular contest had moved to magic, and Gina was finding herself thoroughly trounced. Even their father had been amazed by Ranma's learning curve (and sheer level of potential power but Gina has yet to know that).
"But don't worry, I'm sure..."
Not bothering to listen to his ranting Gina remembered something her father explained to Ranma about his kind of magic. So Gina reached into her pocket and pulled out a quarter to knock Ranma in the head with it.
As soon as Ranma felt something hit him the hold on his levitation spell suddenly shattered and he looked down at his chest to see a mental coin laying on his chest. "Ah crud."
A second later the couch and its occupant fell to the floor while Ranma's drink fell down and landed in his face before the couch tipped over and sent the boy crashing to the floor right before the 'Big Book of Spells' he had been reading landed on his head.
Over by the bookshelf where he had taken out a book on science and technology, Theo sighed as his children 'interacted' with one another. At least his second daughter Brittany had the sense to stay out of this sort of stuff. Then again, she was nearing puberty, and that meant a whole new set of rules for a werecreature like her.
