Apparently Madame Centepede felt it as well as she started to tighten her grip on both the human and Hanyou. But alas, it was not to be as Ran-Yasha suddenly broke free from the coils with ease as he jumped high into the air. Kagome was knocked to the side and she lay still on the ground.
He smirked and chuckled lightly. "You think you can beat me? You fool." He landed lightly right in front of the giant centepede and bared his claws. 'Hmm, guess since it's a demon, it's alright to kill her. Bah! I'll just finish her off quickly."
The Cenetepede stood tall and lunged forward, mouth open to claim her next victim.
"CLAWS OF STEEL!" Ran-Yasha lunged forward with his claws, slicing Madame Centepede into pieces.
Kagome, on the ground, watched in amazement. "Wow. I guess he is a Demon then."
Kaede, the old priestess from the villiage, quickly ran up to the girl. "Quickly child. Find the jewel."
Kagome blinked at her, not really comprehending. "What do you mean?"
Kaede made a motion to the corpse. "If ye do not find it so that we can remove it, this creature will pull itself back together."
"Oh!" Kagome looked around until she saw a piece of the centepede that was glowing. "There, that's glowing."
Kaede nodded and went over to retrieve the gem. Once she removed it, the flesh of the creature turned to dust. The old woman then went over to Kagome and gave her the jewel. "This jewel of the four souls belongs to ye."
"Actually, you should give that to me." Both Kaede and Kagome turned to see Ran-Yasha standing there. The Hanyou smirked at them. "Just give me the jewel. I don't want any problems, but I really just want to see it."
