Moon Prince: What Mommy Doesn't Know... [Episode 7803]

by The Fanfic Stealer

While Pluto was worrying about the fate of Crystal Tokyo, Ranma was being barraged by memories of a whole different lifetime.

Now, Pluto might have had the Time Gates and an immunity from changes in the time stream, but she was far from omnipotent. Her knowledge of Prince Ran's life, though extensive, was really rather generalized; for all her power, all Pluto had on Ran's life was what could be equated to the Cliff Notes version of "War and Peace"- you had the basics, but you wouldn't even be able to begin to comprehend some of the more intricate details of the story. Oh, the Queen had had her keep an eye on him, of course, and kept her regularly updated, but it had been one of those unofficial side projects- they both knew Pluto had had more important duties to perform (the continued existence of the Moon Kingdom, for one). Anything she had on him was deduced from the brief glimpses she got when she had the time. Besides, the kingdom might now have liked it, but he WAS a fighter, and as such could take care of himself.

So it was understandable when his version turned out a bit... different from the Senshi's reminiscing.

Oh, like Pluto, he remembered training with the guards of the Moon Palace. He remembered growing dissatisfied with the teachings, and wanting to know more. He remembered witnessing Neherenia's curse, and the disgust he felt as he watched the Senshi fail in stopping her. He remembered convincing his mother to let him travel abroad, under the guise of getting to know the kingdom better.

He remembered adopting the persona of the mercenary Onyx. He remembered learning from the best of the best from each of the planets (and moons, when the planets were uninhabitable) in the Sol System. He remembered the humility he felt as he trained with the guardians of his friend, Prince Endymion.

But that was where the similarities between Pluto's recollection of events and his own ended. Because of his training in the teachings of the temporal warriors of Pluto, he had enough of an understanding of time and how it worked to effectively cloak himself from the Time Gates, which he knew his mother would use (through the Senshi of Pluto) to keep track of him. He couldn't keep himself cloaked for too long, of course (though it was more because Pluto would get suspicious then because of any deficiency in power), but it had allowed him to go BEYOND the frontier, beyond what would eventually be called the Oort Cloud.

He visited Kinmoku, and learned "The Path of Three": creation, preservation, and destruction.

He visited Mau, and learned what would eventually be bastardized into the Neko-ken.

He visited Jurai, and spent some time training under the Juraian Royal Guard.

He visited Nemesis, and learned what could be considered the Silver Millenium version of ninjutsu.

But all of those places, all of those skills earned, paled in comparison to what he would eventually find on a lonely asteroid on the edge of Juraian space: the Temple of Discord, thought to have been lost to time even before the founding of the Moon Kingdom. Thinking he had hit the jackpot, he had immediately started exploring the place, keeping a lookout for anything- scrolls, manuals, books, data pads, etc.- that could contain new and powerful techniques.

What he found, though... what he found was beyond anything he could have ever imagined.

What he found was...
