Yes, Kasumi liked it when she had the Dojo to herself. She was the heir to the Tendo School of Anything Goes Martial Arts, and had to keep herself in top condition. “After all, I have to finish building up my own skills enough to the point where I can take over for father,” Kasumi thought.
Sighing, Kasumi couldn’t help but smile as she thought of her father. A gentle as he was powerful, he was a true example of the martial artist. He had been there for her when she was starting out in her training and had seen her through. “And if I’m to make him proud, and take over for him one day, I need more training.”
And so, wasting no further time, Kasumi began a kata. The way she moved was almost indescribable; movements that flowed as smoothly as water. She had been practicing this kata over the years and it just came as second nature to her whenever she went to perform it.
However, as perfectly as it went, something somehow seemed ‘off’ to Kasumi. Even thought she had her mind cleared, to concentrate on her inner strength, something was going on around her that was disrupting the usual ‘calm’ of the Dojo. And odd noise, almost like...
“Popping?”
Looking around, Kasumi then caught sight of a girl by the entrance, that was blowing bubbles. She had an over-application of makeup and hair that was dyed with stripes of neon-green and violet hair. She wore a worn black leather studded jacket with the sleeves torn off at the elbows, a tight white tube-top which showed off the girl had pierced nipples, a black leather mini-skirt with an oversized belt, black stockings with holes, and pair of beat-up ankle-high black leather boots.
In other words, it was Kasumi’s younger sister, Akane.
“Akane, what are you doing?” Kasumi asked seriously. “You know father hates it when you dress like that.”
Akane just continued to look at Kasumi, blowing a few bubbles here and there.
Her left eye twitching, Kasumi spoke in a raised tone of voice. “Akane!”
Blowing another bubble, Akane took off her headphones; Kasumi could hear “Danger Zone” by Billy Ocean playing. Looking at her elder sister, Akane asked, “What is it, Kass?”
Kasumi sighed. Kami-sama, she hated that nickname Akane had for her. “Akane, you should get out of that getup quickly. You know dad hates seeing you dressed like that!”
Rolling her eyes, Akane said, “Whatever, Kass. I personally can’t believe you try to follow that ‘traditional samurai’ crap so seriously like Pops does,” Akane said in all seriousness. “You’re gonna become an old maid or at least as pompous as that jackass Kuno.”
Pinching the bridge of her nose to stop an oncoming headache, Kasumi groaned. “I wish you wouldn’t speak like that. What if mother heard? And then there’s father, he’d have a fit!”
Shrugging, Akane said, “Whatevah! Mom’s just’a sap anyway, and Dad takes everything too damn seriously.”
“Akane,” Kasumi grumbled, “Language...”
However, before Akane could retort, the door to the Dojo opened again. Kasumi and Akane turned their heads to see a black-haired Japanese girl in a red silk Chinese shirt and black silk Kung-fur pants whom was hefting a HUGE backpack. The girl looked between Kasumi and Akane for a moment before asking, “Is this a dojo or a brothel?”
“Both if you want it to be, cutie,” Akane said with a suggestive wink. She had to admit, the girl was pretty damn cute, and Akane did have a tendency to swing either way. She especially had fun with Yuka and Sayuri.
“Akane!” Kasumi screamed. Why, oh WHY did her sister have to embarrass the hell out of her like this? Homosexuality wasn’t that morally accepted in Japan, especially in her family. “Why, oh WHY did I have to have Akane for a sister?” Kasumi thought bitterly.
Ranma blinked her eyes once, twice, thrice. Wasn’t the first time Ranma had been hit on by another woman. There was that nice girl that Ranma had met on the road, what was her name? Ah, that’s right, Natsumi. While Natsumi’s little sister Kurumi seemed to think only of food, the elder sister seemed to have eyes for the werewolf in human guise.
Sighing, Ranma shook her head. She didn’t have time for that. “Anyway, I just want to know. Is this a real school or not?”
“Of course it is!” Kasumi said in a huff. “This is the Tendo School of Anything Goes Martial Arts! We’ve been training the youth of Nerima for close to two decades!”
“Really, huh?” Ranma asked. “And how many years did you teach?”
Kasumi blanched. “Er... Well... You see... I’m not ready to teach yet... Mostly still learning you see... But still I’m quite good and-”
“What she means to say is she hasn’t taught squat!” Akane chimed in.
“Ah, I see...” Ranma said, afraid she had come across a dud of a school.
“Akane!” Kasumi yelled again, blushing in embarrassment.
“Whatevah!” Akane said. She looked to Ranma and asked, “What I want to know is who are you, and how’d you get in here?”
“Ah, well, I’m Ranma Saotome, a traveling martial artist,” Ranma said. “Been training since my parents died. Anyway, this really nice chestnut-brown haired girl let me in and lead me out side.”
“Nabiki,” Akane said without pause. “She’s me and Kasumi’s sistah. Really square too if you know what I mean. A real drag.”
“All right,” Ranma said cautiously. “And you are?”
“Akane Tendo, but please, call me ‘Kane!” Akane then looked over to her sister. “And this is my elder sister, Kass.”
“Kasumi,” Kasumi corrected. “I guess you could say that I’m the head student here.”
“Really?” Ranma asked. “Then perhaps I could challenge you to a little match?”
Raising an eyebrow Kasumi. Smiling, Kasumi slinked into a fighting stance with ease. “Sure. It’s a tenant of the school to accept any and all challenges. I accept.”
Smirking, Akane leaned over towards Ranma. “You’re in for it no, girl-o.”
"Geeze! What you got in here? Rocks or something?"
