The Musabetsu Kakuto Tendo-Ryu(sp) was one of two sister schools that together formed the whole art. The art was, at its most basic, a derivation of jujitsu, but it borrowed and stolen from a multitude of other arts since its inception. The Tendo half focused highly on the techniques of weaponry and the throws and grappling of jijitsu. In addition, it was most useful when applied against multiple opponents.
Akane had had a peek at the scrolls containing the sister school once, and her first impression was that it was a bunch of hopping around like a frog when electricity was applied. But then, she hadn't gotten much past the basics of her own school, so who was she to say. Kasumi and her father were the only ones that did much with the Saotome-Ryu.
In any case, she watched as this girl, about her age pranced about like some sort of animal in this spar against Kasumi. She was good, Akane could see that in how seriously Kasumi was taking the spar, but in the end...
*WHAM*
It was still like a dog attacking a mountain, all it did was stub its nose.
Ranma, meanwhile, kippuped and took in her opponent's solid stance. She hated to admit it, but this human woman was giving her a challenge.
Against Herb, most of the problem had been the dragon-boy's chi attacks. Ranma couldn't reproduce them (lacking dragon chi) and so she had to work around or with them. She had gotten very good at deflecting and dodging chi and using it as a visual shield to cover her motions.
Against Mint and Lime. Well, she had a lot more endurance that Mint and just waited for him to tire, and she was almost as strong as Lime while being much faster. They were relatively easy to beat after a bit of practice.
But this Kasumi didn't fight like Herb, she didn't use chi, though Ranma could since it running through her like fire in the foundry. This Kasumi just waited like a mountain for Ranma to come at her, and if Ranma waited too long.
Well...
*WHAM*
"That happened," Ranma thought as she slid down the wall again.
