Little did she know this was Nerima and it was forgotten about two seconds later by everyone around her.
Still blushing with embarrassment Ranma poked her head out of the alley, and when no one seemed to be looking at her funny anymore the wolf girl walked back onto the street as if everything was perfectly normal. Luckily as she made her way through the streets no one seemed to notice the oversized backpack that she had in her werewolf form.
A few minutes later after walking around, Ranma sat back down on a park bench she had come across and sighed at her current situation. Although Ranma had been in Japan for two days, all the dojos she had been to had been to were all duds when it came to real martial arts. The last three wouldn't have even been a challenge before she met Herb; and now they were just pitifully easy.
Herb, just thinking about the guy made Ranma frown. It wasn't that she hated the guy. Hell, Herb had been her best friend since she left the den and set out on her journey. Sure he had looked more at her chest than any other part of her, and a few of those holds she had been put in when developing counters had been a iffy, but he was pretty sweet when it came down to it for a macho boy.
But that was the past. Ranma couldn't afford to think about good-looking guys now. She had footsteps to follow in after all. She just had to be like her idol Jetta. Ever since Ranma could remember, Jetta had been like a big sister to the little werewolf, and almost like a substitute mother since Ranma's was gone. But it was more to Jetta than just the fact that she was tough and a brilliant fighter. Even if she was the clan leader and almost always had important business to attend to, Jetta always seemed to find time to spend with Ranma and cheer her up or teach her something. Even though she was the toughest wolf around she still had time for the little guy, that’s what Ranma really admired for her.
The werewolf smiled as she remembered on more than one occasion that Jetta told her she was the future of the entire clan. Sure nowadays Ranma knew that was all just a lot of hype to cheer her up when she was feeling down or make her feel happier when she was younger. But now Ranma didn't view that as just some words that the older werewolf had told her, it was something she needed to live up to. Jetta had said she was going to be one of the most important werewolves of her generation and there was no way Ranma was going to make a liar out of her idol! When she came back to the den Ranma was going to be the best fighter, hunter, and tracker than anyone in her entire history. Well, except maybe Jetta, Ranma still wasn't sure how she would do in a fight against her unofficial big sister.
That's why she couldn't stay with Herb. Sure he was fun and all, and Ranma had learned a lot of neat techniques with the cute dragon prince helping her out, but she wanted to be the best (or at least second best) warrior the werewolf clan had ever seen. So she didn't have time for boys, even nice ones.
Her resolve reaffirmed, Ranma stood up and grabbed her pack. She still had enough daylight left to check out one or two more places before she needed to find a hotel to stay at. Luckily money wasn't much of a problem for the girl since Herb had let her take at least several thousands, if not millions, of dollars of gold and assorted jewelry from his kingdom's stash; not like he was ever going to use it.
A few minutes of searching later Ranma smiled in delight as she came across...
