"Well, m'boy," the old rancher began, "you may not know'en much now, but you could probuhlee be a good'un. Pick up dat dere pokegirl, and let's get'n back to da' ranch."
Ranma really wanted to shove his foot up the old codger's rear, but he knew little of where he was. Making things worse, the old guy seemed not to be bad other than what may just be the revolting state of whatever this pokegirl business was. With a short sigh, he picked up the injured girl, who only "eeped" at the lift.
"I suppose we need to get some first aid for, uhm," Ranma's face made a quick contortion when he realized he didn't know the girl's name.
"Asrial," the skunk-girl provided.
"Yeah, Asrial needs some first aid. My name is Ranma," he said trying to be friendly.
Jed's eyebrows squinted together, "Boy, er Ranma, ya' should be havin' dat dere pokegirl a callin' ya' mastah. Da' authoruh-tees will-uh be nun-too-happy if'n ya' give too much leeway to-uh pokegirl."
For her part, Asrial began to think that this old guy needed his eyes raked out by a royal set of claws.
"Ya' see Ranma," Jed continued, "tha' old wars had half mutated the few ladies left in da' world into a fightin' kind with a bunch of supuh powuhs. Den', day had to make shure dat dey stayed in control, would help keep humarnity from-uh dying out, and dat' meant sex-slaves. I gotta few brochures you can read when ya' take a rest for dat' taming Ah know you're gonna' want." Smiling, Jed's face seemed to indicate he was remembering a fond something or another from the past. "Yessuh, a first tamin' is always exitin'."
From the confused look on Ranma's face, Asrial could tell that he didn't know that it was sex. Several jerks from that last town wanted to tame her, and made all kinds of lewd remarks about it. "I'm a princess not a fuck-toy," and thought momentarily of her nice collection of energy weapons. "Still," she thought, "maybe this Ranma guy isn't a total pervert."

As sunset cast it's warm glow over the landscape, a small cottage with a barn attached came into view.
"That's it, c'mon son, time's a wasting," Jed urged.
The group of an annoyed dog-type pokegirl, a hopeful rancher, an apprehensive Salusian, and a confused martial-artist approached the Ranch.
By nightfall, Ranma and Asrial had eaten, went through a few brochures about some wars, pokegirls, taming, and acquired a few provisions. Jed kindly provided them a training room for the evening, complete with a full sized trainer bed and open shower.

Inside, Ranma and Asrial finally had a moment to talk privately...
