What she received was a Kurosawa movie…
Her vision was an honorable samurai clad in white, fighting with a magical sword standing before countless trials on a quest she could not full understand and to protect countless innocents. He fought demons, robots, bandits, slavers, even elemental forces of darkness… the part with the Scotsman confused the hell out of her, but in the end he arose to the challenge and defeated all the evil that stood before him, bringing freedom and restoring hope to where it had been lost.
Through the fire she could feel the purity and nobility radiating off of the man with an intensity that was only matched by Usagi in her form as Princess Serenity. Apparently, the Kami were trying to make it damn clear whose side he was on…
Oh, and it also didn’t hurt that he was really cute...
“Rei”
The priestess growled slightly. “Hold on, Grandpa,” she muttered. “I’m in the middle of something important.”
Grandfather Hino nodded. “You may be Rei-chan, but I need to handle something for me.”
“Grandpa, please. Can I just finish my fire reading.” she groaned. This fire reading was showing her far more then she expected and she had to be ready for this new… person.
Rei growled and turned around. Her anger was quickly banished in the face of pure shock. Standing next to her grandfather was the man from her vision, and damn, was he a hunk.
He was maybe a year or three older then Mamoru, his eyes her kind, he had such a sweet smile. His prominent jaw line gave him a regal look, like he was the son of an emperor or something, and she could tell that under that gi he was built like a Greek God. She mentally swore that if any thoughts about an ‘old senpai’ ran through her head, she’d commit seppuku.
“I did not mean to interrupt you fire reading,” The samurai said in a respectful tone. He bowed deeply and said, “Sumimasen.”
“No...” she muttered in a slightly sing-song voice. “It’s alright.”
“I’ll leave you two kids to talk,” Grandfather Hino stated as he turned about face.
Rei motioned for the samurai to sit and he did as bid.
“Hello, my name is Hino Rei,” she stated
The samurai paused for a moment. “They call me Jack.”
“So,” she asked “Why are you here?”
He paused and scowled deeply.
“What’s the problem,” she asked. She really hoped such a cure guy was not angry at her…
“My story is long and strange, it may make me sound mad.”
Rei smiled. “You’d be surprised what I’d be willing to believe.”
“Ah, Rei?”
Rei’s head whipped around and she scowled. What did that idiot Yuuichirou want?
He placed a tray of tea before her and said, “Ah, you’re grandpa wanted me to give you that… like for the guest and all.”
Rei blinked. “Ah, arigato…”
Yuuichirou smiled and stood in place.
“Go away.”
He got the drift, and quickly left.
Rei sighed and turned back to Jack, who was contentedly helping himself to the Tea, and asked, “So, what is your story, Jack-san?”
Jack places his tea down and scowled. “Long ago there was a shape shifting demon named Aku who was defeated by an emperor and sealed into the earth using a holy sword. That demon escaped his imprisonment and struck without warning. The emperor’s son was sent to foreign lands to learn the warrior arts. After many year he returned to his homeland, and welding the sword of his father, he defeated the demon. But before the final blow could be struck, Aku sent the samurai forward in time, to a time when his word was law and all hope was long dead.”
Rei gazed on in quiet awe as Jack continued.
“In the future the samurai swore that he would undo the wrongs that had been committed, and would go back to his own time to undo the evil that was Aku before it could ever be unleashed on the world. On this quest the samurai suffered much, but in turn, he aided many an innocent, doing his best to fight evil where ever it arose. Eventually, the samurai once again faced Aku in battle, and once again he was sent through time before the evil could be destroyed for all time.”
“Are you that Samurai?”
Jack bowed his head. “Yes, I am.”
Rei swallows, her throat dry, damn that was heavy.
“Now I must once again find a way to return home, and to destroy the evil that is Aku.”
