Iceron Awakened: Questioning Wolf [Episode 78540]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

“Alera? Baby?” Ranma repeated, her mouth flapping a little like a fish. She couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “HOLD ON HERE!” The werewolf finally shouted. “What the hell are you people talking about? Last I knew, Jetta didn’t even have KIDS!”

Those gathered blinked their eyes at the small werewolf’s outburst. “Geeze, kid would’ya lighten up already?” Britanny asked. “Pojo was born like, three years ago! Alera was born only a few months back!”

Frowning, Ranma stared at the werecheetah, never breaking eye contact. True, she had lef the clan over four years ago, but this just couldn’t be. “You lie! A great warrior like Jetta wouldn’t just get on all fours and let some guy screw her! She’s the Alpha of the werewolf clan! The greatest warrior! She defeated the Betrayer and became the first FEMALE Alpha to lead the werewolf clan! Besides,” Ranma then added, “She’s not even married!”

Britanny blinked her eyes. “I don’t know how long you been gone kid, but-”

“I’M NOT A KID!” Ranma snapped.

“Okay, okay,” Alex said, moving her hands in a warding motion, “We understand that you’re not a kid, so relax, would you?”

“Yeah! And don’t interrupt when we’re trying to knock some sense inta’ya!” Britanny grumbled. “Yeesh, the younger generation these days,” Britanny grumbled as Ranma continued to seethe.

Sighing, Gina shook her head, wondering why the hell Brit couldn’t have a little more tact. “Listen, er... What was your name again?”

Folding her arms defiantly, Ranma said, “Oh, like I’m gonna tell you?”

Sighing, Gina shook her head. “Look, wolfie, I’m Dr. Gina Babette Diggers, and a lot has happened to the Werewolf Clan since you were gone.”

Folding her arms, Ranma asked, “Like what?”

“First off, Jetta got married,” Gina said, “To a nice werewolf named Thabian.”

Ranma sputtered. “Jetta married that wimpy werewolf!?”

Britanny raised an eyebrow. “Wimpy?”

“Yeah!” Ranma said. “He’s a frikin’ pencil-neck! Hell, even I could push him over easily, and I was only TEN at the time!”

“Well, he certainly isn’t a ‘pencil-neck’ anymore,” Brianna mumbled. “He really filled out!”

“Eh?” Ranma asked.

“Big, tall muscular,” Britanny started, “Can take a kick at full-strength right to the chin and not even flinch...”

Ranma blinked her eyes. “You’re joking, right? There’s only ONE Thabian in the werewolf clan, and he’s a WIMP!”

“Perhaps he’s been taking his vitamins,” Genn added helpfully.

“Milk makes a body good!” Brianna added.

“Maybe he was a later bloomer,” Alex said. “I know I was.”

Sighing, Gina said, “Look, werewolf. Point is, Jetta married Thabian. They became the protectors of the Garden of Eden so that they could repopulate the werewolf race in relative peace. They’ve had a son, Pojo, and a daughter, Alera.”

Ranma sighed. These people seemed to be sticking by their guns, but still... “Jetta... And... THABIAN!?” Ranma mentally screamed. “What the hell was she thinking!? She had the cream of the crop! She had the pick of the litter! And she chooses THAT emaciated wimp!?”

Seeing the confusion etched all about the werewolf’s face, Gina sighed. “Hey? Are you okay? You look unsettled.”

“Yeah,” Brianna agreed. “She looks like Brit did when she came home from that fishing trip where-”

Brianna was cut off as Britanny slapped a hand over her mouth. Britanny looked around, and then remembered Stryyp wasn’t around. Letting out a sigh of relief, Britanny let go of Brianna’s mouth. She didn’t want anyone knowing she lost her wedding ring to a tunafish!

Ranma looked over the group and sighed. “I’m willing to believe you. I have been away a long time... Tell me, did anything else of interest I should know happen?”

“Well, Brendan was taken care of,” Gina said.

“Brendan?” Ranma growled. “The Betrayer!? WHAT HAPPENED!?”

“A powerful enemy set him free,” Gina explained, “Gave him the power he would need to conquer realms.”

“Oh by the goddess, please say someone stopped him!” Ranma asked.

“Don’t worry, we did,” Britanny said. “I personally took care of him.”

Ranma raised an eyebrow. “What did you do? What happened to Brendan”

Smiling, Britanny said, “He was incinerated.”

Alex just blinked her eyes. She wasn’t used to the lives of the Diggers and this was just confusing the hell out of her. “I wish Ace were here,” Alex thought. Not that it would help her any, but least something about her surroundings would be familiar.

Smiling to match the werecheetah’s grin, Ranma chuckled. “Okay, now that I like to hear. So, I take it Brendan’s book is still in Sander’s possession?”

“Nah, that kinda got destroyed,” Britanny said, not mentioning she was the one to destroy it.

“Heh. That must’a been a blow to Sander’s pride,” Ranma mumbled. Shaking her head, she said, “All right, I believe ya’. So can you let me down already?”

“Only if you promise to calm down,” Gina said. “I’ve still got to look you over. Your injuries seem rather severe.”

Looking down, (or rather up) at herself, Ranma sighed. She really could use some medical attention...

And a pair of pants...
