Then, there was the mighty and all powerful Magus, who didn't quite make the cut as he was beaten out by that Strange doctor guy. Lacking the funds to build a personal rocket ship, or the brains to ever go to one of those high tech labs, but having enough to say the hell away from radioactive bombs, his origin story wasn't quite as impressive. His super hero career started behind his high school’s football field after cheerleading practice was over with because his little sister dragged him there.
Now, let's join him...
Standing by the side of the wall Ranma sighed and looked over to his unusually giddy sister while the sounds of the cheerleaders practicing started to come to a close. Although personally Ranma would have classified it more like gladiatorial combat than anything else. Ever sense the team lost their national championship to Quagmire in the finals last year Ranma had heard from Cheetah's friend Danni that the squad was getting really strict. (Yes it's THOSE kind of cheerleaders)
"Okay Ranma, sounds like they're calling it quits," Brittany said. "Just a bit longer."
Meanwhile in the field Danielle Carter wiped the sweat from her brow before taking off the protective padding and letting it drop to the ground. As per the rules the first girl who dropped during practice had to play equipment manager and clean up.
Was today ever a hard practice. Well, not that Dani didn't know why they were working themselves so hard. The tournaments would be coming up soon and she wanted to be able to take back that championship they lost when they ran into Quagmire again.
So she would take all the dirt, grime, sweat, ruined manicures, destroyed make up and bad hair dues she could muster if it meant getting the championship back. Well, just as long as-
"Hey Dani, I’m here, and look who I brought along!" Cheetah said happily as soon as Danielle walked out of the stadium.
-no cute guys saw her. Particularly, THAT cute guy.
“Um, hello Danielle," Ranma said hesitantly while the blond girl in front of him just stood there like hard stone. "Nice to um, see you again."
Of course with Ranma around, the dirt covered legs, scabbed elbow, face covered in dirt, and ruined looks seemed a LOT worse than she had originally believed. Forcing her eyes to slowly wander over to his taller sister, Dani had to force herself not to allow the twitching of her hands to wrap around Cheetah's neck while the other girl gave a nervous wave. "Brit," Dani slowly said through clenched teeth. "Can I see you just a second before I hit the showers?"
'Uh oh' Brittany thought before following the other girl around the corner while Ranma waited there. When they were out of the boy's sight Brittany smiled nervously and chuckled. "Uh, we come at a bad time?"
"RAHHHH!" The other girl shouted before jumping up to wrap her hands around Cheetah's neck and knock her down. But of course Brittany simply grabbed Dani's hands an inch away from her own throat while still standing upright. "What the heck are you doing bringing h-a guy around when I look like this," she demanded through clenched teeth while keeping her tone low. "I'm dirty, I'm bleeding, and I look like something the cat dragged in!"
"Well, that and the BO," Brittany replied as her best friend continued to try and kill her. "Now I kind of get why the cheerleading squad doesn't let anyone else on the field when they practice."
Okay, maybe that hadn't been the best thing to say at the moment as Dani was practically foaming at the mouth in anger now. Hopefully the good news would calm her down. "But I wanted to meet you a little earlier before you got changed because I've go some great news. Ranma wants to join out super hero team."
Hearing the name of the guy of her dreams Danielle's unstoppable quest for a werecheetah hide took a brief break as she blinked in confusion. "Say what?" she asked before Brittany let go of her arms and she dropped to the ground.
"Yeah," Brittany said. "Isn't it great? We'll have to change our name or something, but I think it'll be pretty cool to have him around." Plush she wouldn't have to keep carrying Dani whenever they needed to go long distances.
"Brittany, remember the last time I asked your brother if he wanted to join up with us?" Danielle asked a little reluctantly. It had been when they first started out with this super hero thing, Danielle had asked if he wanted to join them. Although he hadn't anything like fall down laughing Dani could tell the guy was holding it in.
She had tried two times after that when Ranma had given her suit a slight upgrade and recharge. Both times thee had been the same results as the first. Although when she actually asked him why it had to do with running around in the costumes. Danielle could live with that.
"I guess he just had a change of heart," Brittany replied. "When I woke up this morning he just BEGGED me if he could come along with us." Then the girl smiled like the proverbial cat at her shorter friend. "Hey, maybe he just figures that he can do it to impress a certain someone, if you know what I mean."
From her spot on the ground Dani looked at her friend for a moment oddly. Did she... nah, it's not like Brittany actually knew Danielle had the hots for her brother. "Okay fine," the sorter girl said before picking herself up off the ground. "But we're going to WAIT until I get cleaned up before we talk."
'I can't believe Cheetah let him see me like this' the cheerleader thought while walking out of the field and doing her best not to notice the handsome teenager a few footsteps behind her.
