Sidhe Meddling: Pewter [Episode 79730]

The dragon hatchling was named Ranma per the letter, though that didn't seem a proper dragon name at all.

In dragon tradition, a dragon typically had two names. One their proper name, the other a calling-name. One knew one was in trouble when one's proper name was being used - or at least usually it meant trouble. The calling name was used more casually or for the other species, not all of whom could get their tongues around a name like 'Freilaclanbarin' or 'Kuulvayshenairuss' without mangling it horribly in the process. Thus the red dragon 'Bheilorveilthion' might simply be known as 'Pyre' - it also made it easier for the bards to work the name into a song and spread tales of your glory or infamy.

So 'Ranma' was his human name. Ulharsaurivsthyr (blue eyed male) became his draconic proper name and fit as even as a dragon he had the same blue coloration to his eyes. For his calling name, it went back and forth for some time before the name 'Pewter' was chosen in a divination indicating that it had some connotation on his world of origin, wherever that was in the near infinity of alternate universes.

It was also a fairly appropriate name as somehow certain aspects of Ranma's personality had shifted in balance, and he had emerged from the spell as a silver dragon. (Many copper dragons had placed wagers that he'd end up a faerie dragon.)

The community began raising the young dragon, teaching him all the things normally taught to young dragons of that species. How to fly, how to fight, how to polymorph, how to eat without getting spatters all over your cave, and so on.

Though a bit hasty and overly fond of rushing headlong into battle (which many of the bronze dragons didn't see a fault in), Pewter was showing signs of becoming a fine young silver dragon when:
