"Son-In-Law?" Ranma was always welcome in the resturant. It meant more time that she could spend with the boy, counteracting his father's mistakes. And perhaps Shampoo would have more of a chance with him. On the other hand, the presence of the youngest Tendo, while not unheard of, wasn't always the best thing. And to have the Hibiki boy there like this did not bode well.
"Arien," asked a confused Shampoo as she entered the dining area of the Nekohaten, "Violent Girl. Lost Boy. Why you here?"
"Ranma had... an accident," said Akane.
The Amazon Elder frowned. "What sort of accident?"
"She went shopping for a gift for Ukyo's birthday and found a shop that sells Jusenkyo water," put in Ryouga.
"But Arien look okay to Shampoo..."
"Tell me what I think happen didn't," said Cologne.
Ryouga shook his head. "Sorry, can't do that. He brought water that he thought was Nannichan and poured it over his head. Only it wasn't."
"What was it?"
"Permanence Water."
"Why don't you tell everybody in the ward?" muttered Ranma.
Akane scowled at the redhead. "He's just trying to help!"
"I know..."
"Is there something else going on that I should know about?" asked Cologne.
"Apparently Mister Saotome engaged Ranma to someone else," said the youngest Tendo.
"Who?"
The Lost Boy rasied one hand. "Me."
Noticing that Ranma was looking anywhere except at Ryouga, Cologne pondered the problem. "This is most distressing."
Ranma snorted. "Don't I know it."
"You would. But there maybe ways of dealing with this."
"Ya mean that Shampoo ain't gonna have to hunt me down?"
"Perhaps. It all depends on how things are handled."
"So, my Shampoo is free and Saotome is engaged with another," said an entering Mousse.
"Ya don't have to sound so happy about it," growled the redhead.
"To the contrary, I finally can win the hand of my Shampoo and I have you to thank for it!"
"Even with me outta the picture she ain't just gonna run ta you."
"Once I show her how much better I am than you for her, she will."
"Hah! Ya ain't better than me!"
