So instead of simply curing Ranma of a Jusenkyo curse that turned him into a girl, she'd substituted dragon as she was still dealing with a free-association chain of thoughts on martial arts or "ryuu".
"So you've read the McCaffrey novels?" asked Kasumi. "Have you read the Harper set?"
Kodachi paused in her admiration of Ranma's new form. "She has another set of novels on Pern?"
Soon, to the absolute astonishment of most of the two families, Kodachi and Kasumi were off together discussing various parts of the series in question.
"RANMAAAA! YOU DID THIS SOMEHOW!!"
Ranma turned towards the charging Ryoga.
FZZZZZZZAAAAAAAAAAAAK!
Then the twitching, sparking, Ryoga fell slowly over into the koi pond.
Not realizing that Mihoshi's bungling had screwed up the Jusenkyo curses of everyone in the immediate vicinity. Or at least they didn't have any idea until the koi pond fountained up, and instead of P-chan everyone (except Akane who was still staring at Kodachi and Kasumi, and Kodachi and Kasumi were discussing the proper preparation of klah) saw that Ryoga was now a:
