Ranma turned to look toward it and saw that panther-guy, Thropan or something.
"Nope," Ranma said. "I haven't even gotten to say much to him yet." She turned back to glare at the unconscious weretiger
"If your friends hadn't known about him being a lycanthrope, I'd say they went too far," Thropan said.
Ranma's quickly, and supiciously, turned toward Thropan.
"What?" she demanded.
"Hey," Thropan said. "I'm not saying he didn't deserve something for what happened, but you gotta know he didn't mean for anything serious to happen."
"Just being 'manly,' as my mother would say?" Ranma asked coldly.
"I know a few women that act the same way," Thropan said. "So I'd leave it at 'slutty.'"
"And what does that say about me?" Ranma asked.
"Nothing," Thropan said. "I'm talking about Tirga. I mean, in a fight or if you need help, he's a stand up guy. The moment sex comes up he's..."
"Chasing the moon," Ranma said.
"Yeah," Thropan said, sitting down.
"You want to know what this guy did?" Ranma asked.
"I think I already know," Thropan said.
"Just the bare details," Ranma said. She appeared to juggle something in her head for a bit before sighing. "Two years ago, I was male."
Thropan blinked and stared straight at her in amazement. He glanced cautiously, and quite nervously, toward Tirga.
"He didn't..."
"What?" Ranma asked. "NO! This was before that jerk. I had a curse. It used to go on and off....but. It got locked, just about two years ago. The only cure got destroyed while I was saving the guy's life who did it to me."
"Oh," Thropan said, obviously relieved that his friend hadn't sunk so low as turning guys into girls. "But wouldn't you still like girls then?"
"For the first year," Ranma muttered softly. "You see, you stay long enough one way or another, and Cologne says it goes permanent. And when it goes permanent, the spirit starts to...change you so you can survive, relatively sane."
"You know, Tirga couldn't have known any of this," Thropan said in defense of the weretiger.
"I haven't finished yet," Ranma snapped.
"I'm sorry," Thropan said, politely. "Continue."
"I didn't take the warning too well," Ranma said, showing her arm and the scars on her wrist. "I spent a month in a psychiatric hospital over that. Then, when I got out, one of my friends caught me trying again. And then Kodachi tried to get me to be her second. Which was when Ukyou got the whole Ranma-Kun Anonymous idea. So every week we get together and make sure the others ain't doing something stupid. After the first year, the curse started working on me, it's all done now, I think...I'm a tomboy, but I'm a woman now. That was a hard time, still is, my pops didn't fill my head with pro-women stuff. The Amazons still have to give me a kick to get my off my own back."
Not knowing exactly what to say, Thropan nodded silently and gestured for Ranma to continue.
"Then Tirga showed up," Ranma growled. "And he'd listened in on a meeting well enough to know something about it. He came to me and to the other girls apparently, with talk about the 'tragedy' have we'd lost our guy. It was a little different for each of us, but that's the thing. He heard us talking about life when I was a guy and used it to get into our pants!"
"That's...bad," Thropan agreed.
"If...if," Ranma sighed and took a deep breath. "If I hadn't been pregnant, I would have tried to kill myself again. Kodachi DID try, had to go to the hospital. And he KNEW what he was doing before he up and vanished for a year!"
"Okay," Thropan said. "He might have gotten off lightly."
"Might?" Ranma repeated bitterly.
