Shinji was pitiful, there was no arguing that. He had a lot of faults and a lot of problems, most of which went right back to his near-total lack of self-will and inability to believe in himself. He actually wasn’t bad looking; skinny and awkward, but that was just because he was fourteen. It came with the territory.

Urd reached into his mind, and made a few changes. Nothing blatantly obvious, but the people around him, especially Misato and Asuka, would start noticing the difference in a day or two at most. The audience noticed right away, and cheered as he smiled to Urd. "Thank you," he said, already standing straighter, and blushed when she kissed his cheek.
