*sigh...*
Maya Ibuki was bored. There had been no angel attacks for weeks. She had already finished all the work on the MAGI doctor Akagi had given her. Now she was stuck in the Command Center on watch duty. She wasn't alone, Hyuga was here as well as a few others, but had nothing to discuss with him or her colleagues.
And so her mind wandered. She thought back to the experiment with EVA Unit-01 the day before. Thankfully, the Third Child had not been hurt in the accident, on the contrary. She smiled, recalling the vision she had of the 'new and improved' Shinji Ikari when he had been taken out of his entry plug. His plug suit had not withstood his sudden growth very well to say the least. It had been ripped in several places and clinged tight to his form.
She berated herself a little. She wasn't supposed to fantasize on a boy so much younger than her. That particular argument was growing thin and tedious however. She was a grown woman and appreciated the sight of a well-formed male physique (and boy, was Shinji a fine looking specimen now). Rumors of her playing with the lady golfers and being attracted to doctor Akagi nonwithstanding (frankly, she wondered where that came from, Ritsuko was her sempai and teacher. She admired her on a professional level, nothing more)
She had seen Shinji again after that. When major Katsuragi had taken him home, she had seen him pass in the corridors. His borrowed clothes had left very little to the imagination. She still couldn't believe she had thought of running into him 'accidentaly' to feel him up at the time.
She took a photograph from one of her uniform's interior pockets. It was a shot of 'Stud Shinji' from the security cameras that was being circulated among the NERV single women personnel. She had heard there were more women candidates for surveillance duty of the Third Child in Section 2 now.
*sigh...*
Maya was torn. She had been in a few relationships before but had never gone very far. She was still single and twenty-four, nearly a christmas cake. Shinji Ikari looked like he was twenty now, meaning the apparent age difference wasn't that much. She had always thought that he was a nice kid before. It had been a long time since she had felt attracted to someone.
*It's not as if I'm asking for True Love...* she thought *Maybe if I try to be his friend... We'll see what develops then... If he's willing then nothing's wrong, right?*
Satisfied that decency was respected, Maya returned to her contemplation of her Shinji photograph. But she could rationalize all she wanted, the truth was that a part of her wouldn't mind scoring with the hunk of her dreams.
