"You have a large number of problems and karmic disharmonies, as well as other factors which will continue to cause you problems in the future," said Belldandy with a sympathetic look.
"Uh huh," said Ranma. "Hang on. Can ya come with me? I think I need to phrase this real good and words ain't exactly my strong point."
Belldandy smiled helpfully and nodded. Looked like her healing aura was beginning to have an effect. Urd had been so helpful with that, for some reason she'd been really excited about this assignment.
There were reactions you might expect.
Akane took one look at the Belldandy in genie costume and you'd expect her to get angry or get jealous. Heck, she could get jealous and angry at Ranma (not that she'd admit the former) when she thought Nabiki was manipulating him in the "Nabiki's Fiance" mess. She'd been hostile to people when first meeting them before (Kodachi, Picolette, Kaori Daikokuji, etc.)
Ranma bringing home some beautiful girl in darn little clothing, that was something to get angry about, right?
Akane merely stared with her eyes and mouth wide open.
In the later part of the manga she would begin developing great powers of intuition and vast psychic powers, as evidenced by her premonitions about the bird people. Though it might simply have been the "Akane Is Always Right" rule of a number of Ranma universes.
It didn't matter because Akane did not get angry about this. Or jealous. Or even feel small and inadequate next to the girl that Ranma had brought home.
Maybe it was just that there was just something about Belldandy.
Perhaps it was the aura of peace and tranquility. Perhaps it was the way she reminded Akane of Kasumi somehow. Perhaps it was the way she seemed to be aglow in soft lighting from some personal aura. Perhaps it was the way she floated a few inches above the floor.
Perhaps it was the way that the grass seemed to straighten and grow taller as she passed, or the little butterflies now flittering around the backyard or the way the sun seemed to be a little brighter.
Nabiki came down, ready to start trouble or begin manipulating the situation, and she saw Belldandy. For some reason she immediately turned and fled to her room. Perhaps she suddenly felt ashamed about not wearing hardly anything herself.
Happosai took one look in that direction and began weeping for no apparent reason.
Kasumi felt envy for some odd reason she couldn't place immediately. She put it aside and decided to get some tea for their new guest, whom she felt for some reason was a kindred spirit.
