Ranma walked through the crowded streets of Shinjuku, the dark night lit by the myriad neon signs proclaiming to the world that this was the glitzy hub of the capital's nightlife.
He had never been to the commercial district of a big city before, let alone Tokyo's Shinjuku district. Everywhere he looked people were bustling in and out of bars and clubs, restaurants and fast food joints and the hundreds of other shops that he passed. He could feel the palpable aura of excitement from the packed masses of humanity about him and couldn't restrain himself from feeling a little excited himself.
He quickly surveyed the crowds around him, but not seeing any pandas or fat men dressed in a gi, he ducked into a relatively narrow and quiet side street. There were still people wandering between shops, but not nearly as many as on the packed main street.
As he shifted his pack on his shoulder, he paused to consider his options.
