Her hair was knee-length, thick, and black with highlights of purple. Her skin looked golden, darkly tanned as if she were from Okinawa. Eyes that seemed to glow like 500 megawatt laser cannons ready to erupt scanned the crowd, then blinked to become relatively normal eyes - though of a sky blue hue. On her forehead was a large red circle, and on the crest of each cheek was a smaller matching red circle.
Her garb was not what one would expect, which would likely have been a formal kimono.
Instead she wore a pair of boots, tight jeans, a loose cotton blouse, and a denim vest. A choker, two bracers, and an elaborate earring completed the outfit.
"I am Amaterasu Omikami," said the woman, holding a hand out to Ranma. "Your new fiancee. You can call me Ama, Ama-chan, or Amaterasu. Pleased to meet you."
"Gah?" said Ranma before shaking the woman's hand. He was pretty sure he had never heard anyone tell him what to do on meeting a goddess.
"Fah, a poor imposter, who doth dress as if some gaijin whore," said Kuno.
People got wide eyed and started stepping nervously away from him after Amaterasu's eyes went to glowing slits.
Kuno wasn't finished. "As if the foul sorceror could gain any favor from a goddess associated with the highest strata of Japanese society. Perhaps a lowly demon or shapeshifting tanuki-"
Ranma stepped away as the street Amaterasu was standing on began to smoulder. Then it ignited and he made damn sure that he was not in between his new fiancee and the kendoist.
"-some gaudily dressed strumpet impersonating-"
Amaterasu plucked a hair and pointed towards the boy giving the speech. "Corona"
FWOOSH!
A pillar of flame faded to a section of burning pavement with a few bones sticking out of a pile of ash.
Amaterasu's gaze was cold. "Resurrect."
Poof!
A naked except for some soot Tatewaki Kuno looked a little shaken. "A true samurai can defeat any foe!"
"Solar Flare"
FWOOM!
A pile of smouldering ash in a circle of sagging white hot pavement.
"Resurrect." Poof
Kuno eeeked and leapt out of the pavement area, cushioning his fall by landing on Nabiki who'd gotten stuck against the barrier by the crowd of others and now some burned pavement. "I shall never admit defeat!"
Nabiki's eyes got very wide and she struggled to get Kuno off of her.
"Flame Strike" FWOOM!
"Resurrect" Poof
A very unhappy naked Nabiki started kicking Kuno everywhere she could.
"Your tricks," began Kuno.
"Flame Strike" FWOOM! "Resurrect" Poof
"Flame Strike" FWOOM! "Resurrect" Poof

Kuno staggered around briefly but even he had his limits. "Tell me then, how could this be?"
"If I demonstrate to you that you are wrong about something fundamental, will you reconsider?" asked Amaterasu, panting slightly from some reaction.
"Hah, if I am wrong about anything dealing with the foul sorcerer, I shall give you both my blessings!" said Kuno, drawing as much dignity up as he could.
"Fine," said Amaterasu, snapping her fingers. Kuno vanished. "After he's taken a dunk in 'Spring Of Drowned Girl' maybe he'll learn a few things. Now all this has been quite tiring and I was hoping to settle into a relatively nice quiet life here for a few decades without having to expend a lot of magic. What are you going to do about it, Ranma?"
Ranma looked wildly about. "Uhm. Errr. I..."
"The Nekohanten is quite near and I can bring out some very nice tea," suggested Cologne, who was in favor of placating deities even if they were Japanese ones.
"Sounds ideal," said Amaterasu. "Come along, Ranma, I wish to speak with you."
