"Yes," said Setsuna, flipping to that section. "According to this, the powers of genie of the Seventh Sphere Of Djinnikind are divided into three sections.
"INNATE - where the power is inherent to the kind of djinni. Efreet are fire-based, and so an innate power is... here we go - you and anything grasped by you are immune to flame. Powers like these are always on and don't tire you. Except there's a footnote than if you are extending this protection to a single object which weighs more than twenty five pounds, it actually falls under Magical Powers which does use up your internal battery of magic."
"We've got batteries?" Akane asked.
"In a manner of speaking," said Setsuna, flipping to another page. "We all have a supply of magical energy, aka mana, which recharges while we sleep at a fairly slow speed. Faster if we are within our genie vessels. Faster still if we are in service to our Master. Interesting, I wonder if the potential meanings of that... Oh well. Using magical powers drains the battery. In the case of an efreeti like yourself, Akane, you can fly and manifest fire, increase your strength, and a few other things. There's a note here that your genie level limits what you can do, and the only way to increase your level is in service to your master. It also looks like the third type of magic, Wishcraft, is the fastest way of increasing your genie level but carries 'dangers to the novice of its own.'"
"Wishes?" Nabiki asked, wondering if she could simply wish herself out of this mess.
"Let's see. Wishcraft. Yes, each of us has the power to alter reality as long as it is our Master's expressed wish. Doing so depletes the battery quickly but the power level itself is greater than would normally be possible. Hmmm. That might be handy."
"Wish for gold," Nabiki said, practically getting in Ranma's face.
"I wish I had some gold?" Ranma said, a little disconcerted at Nabiki's intensity.
Nabiki found herself clasping her hands in front of her, blink-nodding her head, and intoning "your wish is my command." Then she felt just plain exhausted. There in front of her though were three gold krugerands.
"MINE! MINE! It's mine, I tell you! My preciousssss," said Nabiki, making a big fuss over the coins.
"Uh huh," uncertainly said Ranma.
