Of course, as she had already seen the 'new' him, Asuka took his appearance in stride. "Hey, baka-Shinji, I'm home!"
"Ikari-kun!?!" Hikari went wide eyed, as her realisation of him proved to be a bit... overwhelming. *THUD!*
"She fainted..."
"Is she okay?" he asked, worried that something might have happened to the class representitive.
The redhead frowned for a moment, and recognised that this was her friend's first look at the hunky version of Shinji. Since the freckled girl didn't have as good a constitution as she did, it was understandable that such a shock could have that sort of result. Besides, looking at him now she couldn't blame her, as Shinji in sweats was definately good looking, but Shinji in jeans and a fitted shirt was HOT.
"Realising that the cute guy answering the door was Shinji Ikari was probably a bit much for her," the Second Child answered helpfully, "So she just..."
"Oh... oops. The doorway isn't a good place to lay though," he said, scooping Hikari up into his arms. "But where can I put her?"
'He's just trying to help her out,' Asuka thought to herself, biting down on her jealousy. "Follow me. I'll get a blanket and a pillow, and we can make her comfortable."
"Ohh... okay..."
"Just wait here a minute and I'll be right back."
"Sure thing. I don't mind holding her, so you can take as long as you want."
"You don't, do you?"
"I guess my strength was raised enough so that I can hold her like this. But I really do think that you should go on and get the blankets."
"Really?"
"Yeah. It'd be better for her and... If she woke up or somebody saw her in my arms... it might get a bit embarrassing. Heck... It's kind of wierd now."
"Oh... No problem," she told him cheerfully, and moved quickly to get what she needed. He could look after her friend, but every moment did help. It wasn't like she was jealous or anything. She just wanted to help her friend.
Leaving Shinji behind slightly confused and wondering what was up with Asuka. She seemed... agitated for some reason, but he pretty much wrote it off as she always seemed agitated. Besides, if she was hurrying, so much the better. He really didn't mind holding the girl in his arms, but he did think it best if they lay her down quickly, even if she was slim and he didn't have much trouble in holding her.
So he waited there, with Hikari laying in his arms while:
