New Job: Double date, double trouble. [Episode 85069]

'Stay calm,' "Ranko" told herself as Rei started to undress while chatting.  'We're both girls so it's okay.'

"Actually," explained Rei as she stripped, "look, I'm in an unexpected bind, and wonder if you can help.  My boyfriend's friend arrived arriving on short notice, which throws off our plans for going out after work unless I can find his friend a date and, well, would you be interested in double dating with us?"

"D.d.d..." stammered Ranko, "dah..."

"I mean," appologised Rei as she straightened and bounced, "I know that it's short notice asking you like this, but we're work mates and you did say you didn't have a boyfriend or... You don't have a boyfriend do you?"

"No!" insisted Ranko, then more calmly added, "I mean... eh, no."

"That's what I thought," exclaimed Rei.  "Look, it's not like I'm setting you up on a blind date or anything, I just need you to keep Koji -that's his name, you'll like him- distracted while Dashi and I make out.  So you will help me, won't you?"

Despite trying to maintain her feminine disquise, Ranko wanted to protest that she wasn't interested, but her objections crumpled in the face of Rei's pleading.  She quickly tried to muster a believable excuse without blurting out that she was a guy, dammit, but all she could come up with was a lame, "Er, I don't have anything ta wear..."

Rei stepped over and opened Ranko's locker to glanced critically at the boxer shorts, the sleevless red shirt and baggy, black trousers.  "I kindof guessed you wouldn't at that," she grinned knowingly then gushed, "well, it's no problem!  I picked up something new for myself you see and we're about the same size ..."

'Me an' my big mouth,' Ranko thought.  'How am I going to get out of this?'

• "Ranko" calls home on a pay phone to explain why she'll be late.  Meanwhile her boss overhears and decides to ensure that she'll have a great time.
• Rei insists that helping Ranko dress up nicely for the date is a hands-on job.
• Akane stops by to surprise Ranma after work, only to watch him, er her, leave dressed to kill and looking ready to paint the town red.
• Everything goes smoothly, then Rei introduces Ranko to her date.
• Ranma wakes up the next morning with her first hangover ... in somebody else's bedroom.
