Last night had seen them fighting a new menace, and one that had not played by the usual rules.
Neptune had talked about a restless wind. A dark power emerging in Tokyo. Pluto had shown up, saying that the future was in danger and some chaos had thrown the timestream in jeapordy.
They'd followed Neptune's intuition and found a small park tucked away between a curve of overpass and some neighborhood perimeter wall. A few trees, some grass, a sandbox - nothing special.
Then THEY had appeared out of nowhere.
The Senshi knew their part. Give speech, pose, wait for response, attack. The enemy hadn't waited, as soon as she had gotten to the part about not forgiving them and dealing justice, the bad guys had attacked.

She wished that voice hadn't said that though, because she thought she could have done a lot better without quite as much punishment.
Everyone had seperated and gone home as soon as everyone was moving again. This had been their first defeat since Galaxia and nobody was quite sure how to handle it. Besides, they were dirty, sore, tired, and Ami wanted to analyze her recording of the battle before they tried hunting down these guys and trying again.
Getting up slowly and gingerly making her way to the bathroom, Usagi wondered if maybe she should grab some aspirin.
At this point none of the Senshi realized they had faced:
