Ranma thought about it. "Well, I have a couple."
Bast nodded, waiting for him to speak, though she could gleam the information from his mind, she'd rather not.
"Okay, first off, you stated that the Kusanagis and Yagamis fought in a blood fued for so long. How come no one's tried to stop it?"
Bastet sighed. "People have, but by trying to kill the Yagami clan off. As such, they're not seen as good guys, even if the current Hakkeshu from that clan doesn't go around killing people or doing sadistic things outside of battle."
Ranma nodded. "Okay. You said something about the King of Fighters tournament, and how there are strong fighters there. Outside of the Kusanagi and Yagami fighters, are there any I have to watch out for?"
Bast smirked, it seemed that Ranma wasn't as big an idiot as he let on, even if he didn't know a lot. "There are a few. Several of whom are neutral to the going-ons between the Yagami and Kusanagi clans. They will get involved if the world is going to be destroyed though.
"First off is the Lonely Wolf Terry Bogard. He's a remarkable person who actually defeated the God of War Mars."
Ranma blinked. "Really?"
Bastet nodded. "Yes. He's actually very neutral concerning the affairs of the Orochi clans and the clones. He loves fighting and loves the challenge that people can give him. He's a three-time King of Fighters Champion. Though at one time he was a co-champion because there were two King of Fighters Tournaments.
"Next is the Invincible Dragon Ryo Sazaki. That's just his title, don't say anything Ranma." The Weresmilidon nodded. "He was, at one time, the King of Fighters champion and continues to remain a serious contender for that crown. While he doesn't get involved with the clans affairs, he does have some strong opinions about what goes on."
Bastet took a breath and continued. "There are several others, but I'm only going to give you information on the ones that could help or hinder your mission. There's the Insane Orochi Warrior Iori Yagami. Like I've said, he's the nineth Hakkeshu, he's very strong and a very good fighter. No one wants to fight him normally."
Ranma nodded. "I guess, if he's one of the strongest fighters alive, I guess they don't like fighting him."
"It's not that. He's also skilled enough and heartless enough to kill someone without feeling emotion."
"What?"
"Blame his father. His father makes yours look like a saint."
Ranma paled. "Gee, no wonder he's like that."
Bastet nodded. "Yes. Next happens to be his rival, Kyo Kusanagi. While a decent fighter and very skilled, he takes all the credit for winning every King of Fighters tournament that he participates in, and he says that he does it without any help. His attitude has made him a few enemies, but he has so many fans that no one outside the tournament says anything. He does have the credentials to back up some of his claims though, he did win four King of Fighters tournaments in a row."
Ranma nodded, to him it seemed that Kyo had a bigger ego than he did, and that was saying something.
"Anyway, next is the Modern Pirate Rugal Berstien. He hasn't been seen in a while, but he does pop up from time to time. Anyway, like Iori, he has Orochi blood within him, unlike Iori, he wasn't born with it."
"Um, how is that possible?"
"When the seal on the Orochi was partially broken, Rugal happened to be close enough to where the break in the seal was, as such he gained Orochi power. His power was increased in a deal he made with the Hakkeshu of the Wind."
"I see. Sounds like everyone I know in Nerima, always wanting and getting powerups."
"Yes, and you've wanted them as well, so be quiet."
Ranma just nodded.
"Anyway, Rugal's a tough and dangerous ally or opponent. Next happens to be a person by the name of K' Dash. He's actually a clone of Kyo Kusanagi, but he has Orochi blood within him as well. He used to work for NESTS, but after a falling out, he's left them with two of his friends, Kula Diamond and Maxima.
"While K' Dash can use Magtama, Kula can use ice powers. Like K', she's a clone as well, but she, K' and Maxima can be a lot of help in the coming fights.
"As for Maxima, he's a good friend of K's, he acts as the muscle for their team when they fight, and for good reason.
"Any other questions?"
"Yeah. Isn't going around as a Weresmilidon kind of I don't know, um, I can't think of the word, but I think people would probably run and hide if they saw me."
Bastet sweatdropped, she had forgotten about that little problem. "Well...
