Ranma Saotome had exited the house following dinner just to get some fresh air. This is quite relaxing. Enjoying the night time after a hearty meal. What more could he ask for?
Actually, he could ask for a way to figure out this new transformation ability into a Sabretooth Weretiger but he can't have everything. At least he has a little secret weapon in case things get hairy but he would rather prefer not to use it for as long as possible.
He paused briefly as he thought back to his encounter with Heidern. A disciplined, military man who seemed to have great combat skills. Perhaps he could spar with him sometime.
What he didn't realize was that Heidern was thinking of him as well. The older man felt something about the boy and felt compelled to dig up some information on him. This meant research for the other Ikari Warriors and no action which got Ralf somewhat restless.
"Geez! I wonder what that kid must have done to get the Commander to be whipping us this hard to find information on him!" He took another chug of beer.
"Once we get some information on him, then we may be able to confront him and see for ourselves," replied Leona, having to raise her voice a little to speak over the noise that the fax machine was making.
They kept working for another half hour before deciding to go over what they had. Clark started summarizing the records.
"No school records. We have a birth certificate here saying that he was born to Nodoka and Genma Saotome. Apparently, both parents had passed away shortly after Ranma was sent to live in their friend's dojo to learn martial arts. After training for many years, his Aunt Sara had contacted him to live with her in a neighbourhood, west of Southtown."
"That's quite the odd life," murmured Ralf.
Leona crossed her arms. "So he's a martial artist? He must be extremely talented in order to have the Commander want us to dig up some background information on him."
"And his timing couldn't have been better. Commander Heidern just faxed us this." Clark held up a piece of paper with an photocopy of an invitation to the King of Fighters 2001 tournament. Sponsored by NESTS.
Ralf nearly bugged out. "They remain hidden for this time and now they want to come out and sponsor KOF 2001?!? What's with that?!?"
Clark sighed. "I'm not sure, Ralf but we could use Ranma's help for this. They're still using the four man team system. We can't contact Whip to be our fourth team member and the Commander is trying to pull some strings to get to the bottom of this but he doesn't know if he can do anything if he becomes our fourth man."
"Then we must go and speak with Ranma Saotome at once," stated Leona.
