M was annoyed. Yesterday a completely new and undiscovered were-creature had literally 'popped' up on his front door, and the person itself was simply a mystery wrapped within a mystery. M didn't know whether to curse Theo for bringing this boy to him, or thank him for it. He always loved a Mystery, but this was getting a tad bit bizarre.
Recapping on what he knew thus far. The boy, Saotome Ranma, was a new breed of were-cat, specifically a Were-Smilidion, also known as a Saber tooth Weretiger. He was born November 19th, 1974 to the parents of Nodoka and Genma Saotome, and he seemed to have been charged with the duty of taking in and raising the last were-cheetah in known existence. The subject itself seems to possess a high, if entirely unknown amount of training in combat, specifically the Martial Arts. He had the injured Agents to prove it.
There were a few problems with this information, however. One, the current year was 1967, which meant this boy wasn't even suppose to be born yet. Numerous theories on what this meant steamed from Time Travel to delusions of Grandeur. It wouldn't be too surprising if the kid was simply nuts, but bio-scans done while the subject was questioned supplied proof, at least from his perspective, that he was telling the absolute gods honest truth.
M hmmed as he thought about it, only idly looking over a monitor displaying the sleeping boy and baby. The body of an unconscious Agent present in the room, the Agent had been another attempt to take the baby from the boy. The agent assumed that it would be easier now that the subject was asleep, which M would normally be inclined to agree with. The boy however seemed to react to the threat in his sleep, brutally countering the Agent's grab with a lightning fast punch to the face.
The second problem with this was rather obvious. If he hadn't been born yet, then he didn't exist. Which meant if his parents were present on the planet, they wouldn't know who the heck he was in the first place. So, if he tried to introduce them to each other who knows what could happen? A paradox most likely, but the point was moot for the time being. For the moment, he didn't even know if his parents existed, it would be some time before they could do a complete through check with Japan considering the lack of advanced technology.
Considering all the information present, M realized he had only two real choices in this matter. He could try and keep Ranma here for observation, whether with or against his will. That option didn't seem very appealing, not if he wanted to avoid pissing off the boy. Still, the boy seemed keen on the idea of living some place with Brittany, at least only long enough until he learned how to care for the girl more properly.
And who knows how long that was going to take?
His second option, and the one he was leaning towards, involved keeping Ranma and the baby under observation through a third party. If he could convince any of his Agents to take Ranma and the child in for a few months, hell maybe even a few years, they could observe his actions and reactions, then simply draw their conclusions from there.
"But who?" M questioned.
Most of his Agents didn't deal with were-creatures generally, their numbers being few on the actual planet. Raising a creature of magical origins couldn't be a walk in the park either, which once again lowered his list of prospective caretakers even further.
"Who do I know would be willing to take these two in, who knows enough about were-creatures to properly raise Brittany until the boy got the hang of it? Who do I know is gullible enough to..."
The door to the command center suddenly opened, a tall blonde man entering the room.
M grinned, "Ooooh Theo! Could I have a word with you?" Perfect.
