Not the Cat Fist: Performance enhancement. (LIME) [Episode 888]

by Greyman

Genma cast the spell to "enhance the target's performance" on the straving cat's in the pit, then threw his baited son in after them. He listened with satisfaction as the cats screamed and yowled like crazy and tried not to visualise the scene in his mind. Inside his subconscious, his compassion was struggling to reach the controls, but was too weak from years of neglect to resist as his pride beat it back down again.

Meanwhile, inside the pit, a frightened little Ranma curled up in a ball while the cats ...

... ignored him.

Although starving the cats had something else on their feline minds than food. Genma really should have read the fine print. It had enhanced the cat's performance as promised and, in doing so, drove the females into heat and the males were compelled to satisfy them with their enhanced performance.

When the sounds died down some hours latter, Genma was proud to discover Ranma unharmed surounded by felines dead from exhaustion. Obviously, he thought, the boy had fought off the starving cats until their little hearts burst. The fish cake wasn't even touched. But he was disheartened to discover that Ranma didn't show any signs of improvement.

So he tried it again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

And again.

Until he gave up.

Unbeknownst to him, Ranma had been affected by the training. Repeated exposure to the residual of the spell had affected him, but adapted him gradually rather than in one overdose. He'd built up a resistance to the changes and his young body wouldn't show the result - not until puberty, and the events following, reawakened the spell.
