"Honestly," Mary sighed. "I don't understand why you three don't just let me take you to the hospital. I could get those wounds fixed easily there." She had followed John, Crystal, and Susan to the latter's loft to tend their wounds.
John just rolled his eyes. "I'm fine. Those spiders barely scratched me." Mary was currently applying bandages to his leg.
"Put a sock in it," Crystal snapped. She turned to the doctor. "We can't go to the hospital, Mary, because then questions would be asked. We're going to have to make do with the first aid kit from Harley's car."
Mary just sighed but nodded in agreement. The first aid kit would be nearly empty after taking care of all three of them.
Susan was sitting off in one corner of the room, arms wrapped around her knees as she rocked slowly back and forth. She was still mumbling things to herself, "I'm gonna die, all alone, something followed us, and it's gonna kill us, and I'm dying, I'm not healing, something's hunting us..."
Frankly, her babbling was wearing on all of their nerves. "Setsuna Meiou!" Crystal snapped as her temper boiled over. "Stop this gibbering right now!" She loomed of the terrified former senshi. "You are a senshi, woman, so pull yourself together. You do not have the option of rolling over and dying."
John and Mary had paused to watch the confrontation, both surprised at Crystal's reaction.
"You are a senshi, Setsuna, so stand up already. You princess commands," Crystal continued.
Susan, shaking, stood up.
"Good," Crystal's voice lost some harshness, but was still strong and firm. "You do not get to simply cower here in fear, Setsuna. We need you to start getting your act together. We have never surrendered to fate before, not even when facing the Wiseman or Pharaoh 90 or Galaxia. So you will not surrender now. Do you understand?"
Susan nodded.
Crystal nodded. "Go get cleaned up. We're planning to go see this Dr. Dark-Sparda in the morning, so I expect you to be well rested for it."
Susan nodded again, and headed toward the bathroom.
"Damn," John commented softly once Susan was gone. "I didn't think you had it in ya', Usagi."
Crystal looked back at John and Mary and smiled weakly, her face pinking in embarrassment. "I don't think Usagi did. I think that was Crystal; she's an editor for the college paper. She's had to deal with some pretty childish writers from time to time, and had to learn how to put her foot down."
John chucked while Mary shook her head ruefully.
