The little PT-style boat that the rescue party had appropriated didn't offer much in the way of padding. Everyone aboard ended up just grabbing on to something and latching on just to keep from being swept away by some of the waves.
"HEY!"
Kiyone had grabbed the wheel and thrown handcuffs. She was handcuffed to the wheel. Akane was handcuffed to a side rail. Rei was handcuffed to Asuka. Asuka was handcuffed to Rei and a side rail. Misato was handcuffed to Ranma and another rail.
A wave splashed over the side, drenching all of them.
"This is most unpleasant," said Rei as she found herself being bounced around in line as well as soaking wet. The cold didn't bother her.
Asuka let out a stream of invective in German that would have curdled milk at twenty paces.
Misato latched on to Ranma-chan and buried the shorter girl's face in her bosom. After all, if anything happened to Ranma - back they'd go.
Kiyone spun the little boat around and gunned the engine as she caught a glimpse of something. That looked like land...
The next wave literally threw them ashore, breaking the boat nearly in half after it struck a tree.
"P-p-p-p-pervert," chattered Akane as she sat, huddled in a blanket while her clothes dried.
Ranma and his fiancees, in the same boat, were just too cold and tired to bother with that idea - especially as Akane apparently decided to take a nap immediately thereafter.
Perhaps it was the coconut Asuka bounced off Akane's head.
"So c-c-c-cold," said Ranma, shivering under the blanket.
"I'd drink some of that hot water if I didn't think it'd kill me," said Asuka, eying the ammo case they'd filled with water from a brackish puddle in order to heat it and turn Ranma back into a guy.
Rei shrugged. "The fire is going. I am not bothered by the lower temperatures though the heat from the fire seems to have a sedative effect on me."
"Huh?" asked Ranma, teeth chattering.
"It makes her sleepy," translated Misato. "We need to take our minds (achoo!) off this. So what can we do?"
"Hmmmm," hmmed everyone but the now-snoring Akane.
