Ranma opened his mouth and said, “Yeah, where is Julia?”
Shaking his head, Theo sadly said, “Ranma, we’ve got a problem.”
“I’ll say,” Ranma grumbled as he walked up to Carfax. “Hey, you!”
“M-Me sir?” Carfax spoke out for the first time in quite awhile.
“Yeah,” Ranma said as he stared the little man down. “What’s the big idea, bringing us out here and getting our hopes up?” Ranma made a fist. “I got half a mind to-”
“Just hold on, Mr. Saotome!” Gneiss called out and interrupted before Ranma did anything that he... No, more like Carfax would regret.
“Eh?” Ranma asked, while holding up Carfax by the collar of his shirt. “What do you mean?”
“Ranma,” Theo broke into the conversation. “It would seem my wife is under a curse. She can’t communicate or interact with anyone from Earth.”
“...What?” Ranma deadpanned.
“Yes, yes,” Gneiss said sadly.
Sniffling, Britanny asked, “We’re not going to see Momma Julia again?”
“Oh, don’t give up hope. I’m sure we’ll find someway to help her,” Gneiss lied. He just couldn’t bring himself to break the little girls hearts... Or let Ranma break Carfax’s neck for that matter.
“You think you can manage?” Ranma asked cryptically before letting Carfax go.
“Yes,” Gneiss lied again and wondered if he was going to catch hell for his. “We’ll get as many of the members of the Conclave on this as possible. Between all our great minds, SOMEONE might find a possible cure.”
“Good,” Ranma said before looking around. “So what can we do now?”
Sighing, Gneiss answered, “Not much I’m afraid. I suggest you all go home and rest, and take heart in the fact that Julia is alive.
Ranma, Theo, and the girls nodded their heads. Oh, did this suck.
