"I am fully active, Doctor," replied a soft male voice.
"I think you'll be quite helpful to Ranma Saotome and this Moon Princess, don't you?" Doctor Quest asked the Arm Slave. A giant robot style mecha he'd back-engineered from technology left by Doctor Sinh among others, however this was a gleaming white and had some other little surprises.
"All the while I'll be passing data back to you in case this Moon Princess is actually an alien invader or something similar," noted Al. "The secrecy angle bothers me."
"It bothers me as well, however it is necessary," agreed Doctor Quest. "Sleep, Al. It will take me some time to deliver Arbalest to young Mister Saotome."
"Affirmative, Doctor."
Ranma Saotome knew disgust. He was quite familiar with frustration as well. "Why in all of Zandru's Twelve Furnaces did I have to pick a girl like you to be a hero?"
Sailor Moon sniffled as she looked up, mud dripping off her face. "It's not my fault."
Ranma considered and nodded. "You're right. You're incompetent, clumsy, weak, entirely lacking in physical or mental discipline, and are about as physically threatening as a beanie baby. You're actually trying to improve, but you're about as well suited to fight demonic beings from beyond as you are to leap tall buildings in a single bound."
"I can leap small buildings," said Sailor Moon brightly.
"Your attacks seem to require some activation time and are mainly imbued with White Energy," mused Ranma. "You're not inclined to be a front line soldier. More an artillery piece."
"Huh?" asked Sailor Moon.
"You're best suited, at least as far as powers go, for attacking from a distance while someone else is fighting the enemy," explained Ranma.
"Ah!" said Sailor Moon.
"Maybe showing up from the shadows and blasting them from cover," speculated Ranma.
"With a pose and declaration of justice," added Sailor Moon hopefully.
"Uhm, no, if you do that the element of surprise is shot all to hell," pointed out Ranma.
"... Luna seems to think it's a good idea," mumbled Sailor Moon, picking herself out of the mud and tugging on the rope she had tried to swing across on.
"Luna is a cat. A talking cat, but a cat nonetheless," said Ranma. "When I see a cat plan a war and win, or do something more impressive than coughing up a hairball and licking her own crotch - I'll give more credence to her advice."
Sailor Moon looked shocked.
"Cats do that sort of thing," Ranma assured her. "They're useful in that they eat mice and cockroaches, but they're not exactly known for strategic brilliance."
Sailor Moon was still gagging at the thought of Luna eating cockroaches.
"There are other Sailor Senshi," pointed out Ranma. "I'd say locating them is one of our first priorities."
