[Episode 9145] [Episode 9145]Nabiki sat in her cage at Furries 4 U and groomed herself, waiting for her owner to come and get her.
When she had woken up that morning, all furry and with the urge to lick herself all over (and certain other urges as well), she had realized at once what had happened. She had dug the KitKat™ wrapper out of the trash and deciphered the small print as much as she could with her new eyes, but the growing urges to behave like a cat made her nervous. She had horror visions of herself, crawling through the back alleys of Nerima, looking for fish heads in dumpsters and yowling for the toms.
So she had done the only thing that seemed sensible at the time. She had hurried to the store that transfurred Akane (and apparently Shampoo and Ukyou), where she had asked the clerk whether they could do anything to help her.
Well, this hadn't quite been what she meant, but she didn't mind anymore. After going through the pet training and conditioning, as well as the official registration as a house pet, she no longer felt bad about giving in to those urges. She realized now that it would never have come to that terrible vision that had scared her so. Her owner would never let her become a stray like that.
Rationally she knew that the old Nabiki would never have wanted to become a pet, least of all Ranma's, but she also knew that what was done was done, and no use to cry over spilt milk. Mmmmm, spilt milk! She licked her lips.
Besides, she genuinely liked her lithe new body with its lustrous, sensitive fur, increased flexibility, and sharpened senses. She had lost a little in the eye-sight department, but her sense of touch, sense of smell, and particularly sense of hearing were more than compensating for that.
She could hear the whinnies of a new ponygirl going through her training in the back room. She could smell the gamine scent of the goatgirl in the other cage. She could even smell that the dog girl who had been in this cage some time previously had been in the first stages of going into heat. Nabiki smiled naughtily at the thought. By now the horny little thing would probably be humping her owner's legs.
The idea of rubbing herself against any part of her owner's body made Nabiki give in to the temptation of grooming herself down there once more. It was probably the most thoroughly cleaned area of her body, but somehow the fur there always seemed to end up matted with wetness, requiring yet another thorough tongue-bath. Nabiki purred at the sensation, and at the thought of cleaning her owner the same way - male Ranma or female Ranma, or even Kodachi. She hadn't originally wanted Kodachi as her co-owner, but now she found that she wouldn't mind that, if Ranma wanted to share. Whatever her owner decided would be okay with her.
Her ears pricked up when she heard voices in the front room.
"Mind telling me how this happened?" Ranma asked the clerk. "'Cause I really don't believe that Nabiki just up and decided to get herself transfurred by you."
"Be that as it may, she did seek out our help. However, we did not transfur her - she was already a catgirl when she arrived. As I understand it, her transfurmation was a result of eating a magical candy bar."
Ranma's eyes went wide, as he suddenly remembered the free candies he got from the Spells 'R' Us shop - and that they were still lying around unguarded at the Tendou home!
Meanwhile at the Tendou Doujou...
"Oh my, Akane! What are you doing? Please let go of my leg, Akane. Shouldn't you wait for Ranma to get home, before you- Oh! Oh my! We shouldn't..."
But Akane's eyes were glazed with need, so she just barked and continued...
"In any case, Miss Tendou - or should I say Nabiki, since that is her full name, now - came to us for expert help, and I'm proud to say that we were able to help her with her conflicting desires. Since there was no actual transfurmation involved, only the usual training treatment and registration with Animal Control, her package was quite inexpensive, and she paid her own way. You merely need to sign this receipt and you can take her home. Unless, of course, you wish to sign her over for sale..."
"No! I'll take her. I'll sign!" Ranma really didn't want to face the Tendous with the news that he had put Nabiki up for sale - no matter how tempting that might seem.
Soon the clerk led the newly furry Nabiki out to the front room to meet her owner. However, as soon as Ranma saw Nabiki padding towards him, he went pale and started shivering.
Nabiki stopped and sat down in cat fashion, looking at him intently.
Kodachi, who had been a silent observer until now, looked puzzled at first, but then said, "Oh yes, the ailurophobia that my brother talked about! My poor, poor Ranma-sama! She is such a magnificent beast, but you are unable to appreciate her beauty!"
Nabiki preened at the compliment and meowed, which only caused Ranma to shiver more. She hastily stopped herself.
Ranma stared at Nabiki, sweat beading on his brow. 'She's not a real cat. It's just Nabiki. She's not a real cat...' he repeated over and over in his head. He wanted to scream and run away, but he couldn't do that. It was his fault for bringing home those magic candies, when he knew that they were dangerous. He had taken responsibility for Nabiki, and he could not abandon that out of fear. It would be dishonourable.
'She's not a real cat. It's just Nabiki. She's not a real cat...' The soothing litany went on and on, as Ranma forced himself to take a step towards his new pet, and then another. After an interminable time he finally stood before her, shaking like a leaf and drenched in sweat. "G-g-g-good k-kitty?" he tried tentatively. "You're a nice c-c-cat, right? You're not gonna bite and scratchandripandclawandtearandrendand- Nnrrrgh! G-good kitty!"
Nabiki forced herself to remain stock still, as Ranma reached out with a trembling hand and patted her head, even though she wanted nothing more than to purr and rub herself all over him. She had found Ranma's cat phobia amusing, once, but now she realized how horrible it was. It brought tears to her eyes to see her owner like this.
Kodachi's eyes, too, held tears, as she stepped up to the two. "My poor, poor darling. Relax, I'll take her leash for now. Why don't you go ahead, back to the other pets, and we'll catch up to you?"
"GoodideathanksKodachibye!" <Whooosh, SLAM, jingle, jingle, jingle...>
Kodachi looked after the rapidly retreating Ranma, while petting and scratching Nabiki's head. "The poor boy. We have to do something about this dreadful phobia."
Nabiki purred and rubbed the side of her face against Kodachi's petting hand. "Myess!" she mewled in agreement.
Together the two of them went to follow Ranma back to the Kunou mansion.
