Ranma bit his lip, and frowned. "I think I'd like to make it so that I could keep 'em from gettin' hurt, but I'd have to bring them someplace safe. Only problem is that I'd have ta bring them here..."
"Could you find them to do that?"
"Maybe... I know pretty much where the girl is, but the boy is harder. I'm not too clear on where he is right now, and his pop keeps on movin' around..."
"Well then, I suppose that we'll have to focus on the girl at the moment..."
The pigtailed martial artist blinked. "Huh?"
"We have the room, even with you staying with us, so we can take her in."
"Ya could..?"
"But of course. The idea of some little girl wandering around alone doesn't sit well," Soun told boy-turned-pretty-young-lady in front of him. What he didn't say was that the idea of having someone that he and his daughters could focus on instead of their own grief sounded rather appealing at the moment.
"Okay... So ya wouldn't mind if I brought her here?"
"I don't think I'd mind if you brought both of them, but I'd like to make sure we could rescue at least one before she gets into trouble, as long as she is having as much difficulties as you say."
"As far as I know she is. Somethin' was taken from her family that was real important, but the person who took it apparently broke the promise that allowed him ta take it."
"That is intolerable. No real man would ever go and break such a promise. You bring the child here, and we'll make sure to get things ready for her."
"Uhh... thanks," Ranma replied, fighting the urge to ask if the Tendo Patriarch was on something. This was getting him at least part of what he wanted, so he wasn't about to rock the boat. He was just glad that he was going to be able to rescue Ukyo, and was already planning on how to find her while:
