Demon Slayer Ranma: Note to Self [Episode 92317]

by Proteus

As soon as Ranma stood up and walked a few steps Shippo quickly attached himself to her shoulder when they got to the grass that was taller than he was, and started talking about how Inuyasha had been in a bad mood since she wouldn't let him leave. "...and every time he demanded to Kagome to go and get you she'd just glare at him and say sit then POW! Down he he went," Shippo finished while smacking his fist into his palm for sound effects.

Ranma just let out a giggle at-no he didn't giggle, he laughed, only girls giggled, and he wasn't a girl! But... what if he was turning into one or something? Ranma shuttered at the thought of him still being trapped as a girl and... well, she sure as hell wouldn't be doing nothing like arranging flowers or making dresses since Sango didn't do that normally either, but it still sucked.

"Sango, you okay? Why'd you stop?" Shippo asked before quickly looking at the forest around them. "T-There aren't any demons around are there?"

Hearing Shippo's question, Ranma shook off the dark thoughts creeping up on her mind and just smirked. "You mean besides you?"

"Hey, I'm not like any of those ten foot man eating ones," Shippo argued.

"Yeah, and you're a lot cuter too," Ranma told him before scratching behind one of his ears. Wait, did I just say cute? "But it was nothing, I just... got lost in thought." I have GOT to get out of this body! Ranma told herself as she headed back towards the village.

Halfway back to the village Ranma frowned in thought while Shippo rode on her shoulder. What in the heck had happened back there anyway? Guys didn't think of things as cute, and yet every time she looked at Shippo out of the corner of her eye that word always came to mind. It wasn't as if she just had Sango's memories, but the emotional baggage they carried as well.

As much as Ranma hated to admit it to herself, even if she did take off to go train those same feelings would make her worry about Kagome and the others almost constantly and she wouldn't be able to get any work done. Then she'd probably try and track them down... and she'd be right back where she started out as Sango.

Hey, come to think of it, what did happen to Sango anyway? Ranma asked herself. Was she just gone, or repressed in the back of her own head like with some demonic possessions? Maybe whatever happened decided to take the cheesy movie rout and switched their bodies.

"What's so funny Sango?" Shippo asked as the kit noticed the girl starting to snicker.

"Huh? Wha? Oh, Shippo, it's... nothing," Ranma lied to the little fox while holding in her laugher of an image of her female form chasing an overweight panda down the street while shouting about shape changing demons and waving around the Saotome family sword.

However when the scene quickly ended with Ranma-chan standing over a dozen pieces of sliced and diced panda parts, Ranma's humor quickly faded. Then again, maybe that isn't so good after all.

Plus the more she thought about it, giving Kagome a letter to give to Akane or Cologne was starting to look like more of a disaster. Although Ranma could tell by her clothes Kagome came from recent times, she didn't know just how recent. She could of been a year behind or ahead of Ranma, hell even a month was too much.

Then again, even if she was right on time, the problems that would cause were even worse...

In Ranma's mindscape a happy and cheerful Kagome walked up to the Tendo Dojo and knocked on the front door, only to have it answered by Akane. "Hello! I have this letter from a friend of mine I'm supposed to give to you people. She said it was about someone named Ranma!" she told the girl in front of her before holding out a letter and smiling happily.

"What?" the imaginary Akane yelled. "ANOTHER FIANCEE RAHHHHHHHHHH!" And five seconds later, what part of Kagome survived the impact to Akane's mallet was flying across the Tokyo skyline.

... and Ranma didn't even want to think what Shampoo would do to another obstacle. Those memories left over from Sango just wouldn't let her put Kagome into that kind of danger.

"Well it's about damn time!" a rude male's voice said to Ranma as soon as she stepped out of the woods.
